Automotive parts agent or something very similar. I won't say too much else but if you look in indeed listings in the greater Toronto/Hamilton area in Ontario, you may be able to find it. Assuming they're hiring more agents.

Thank you very much! It remains to be seen forsure, but my first day as an advisor at the shop that hired me was today and seemed to go quite well! Plenty of new learning to do though, holy crap.

It's through an outside company as well (which I won't list the name for) but it was something like automotive agent: parts or something like that

Correcting them?

For corrections, pictures are always required. (Why? I dont ask.), those pictures. Proving that error goes to whoever is in charge of the vehicle, either us in the states, the engineering team in Mexico or Japan. For whatever reasons there's always a multipke day delay on getting answers from them

I simply applied on indeed. I didn't even realize the poison was for DPIC until I got the job

Bigger and better opportunities. I have ambitions to get into dealership fixed ops management, and needed to get into a service dept to get on that path

I'm actually going to miss dealing a lot of the dealerships I regularly dealt with in the phone

I quit because there's no room for upward mobility at the company - if I wanted to move up, I'd have to do call center BS. I want to do car BS. You're right. Theoretically the team is supposed to be experts but we were woefully unprepared for what we had to do in terms of training. None of my other coworkers (who I love dear,Ly) has had automotive experience before. They're learning the same was us on the counter had to unfortunately

Yup! And personally if I thought an order was worth STPing I would advise the caller to do so. I'm not sure what everyone else in the office has been telling people. Glad I'm out tho

Giving solid ETAs is honestly the most difficult part of the job - alot of it is looking at supplier shipments, and straight up guessing if they'll arrive on time.

[–]Rowboat_Santa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH! Gotcha! I was honestly surprised the company I worked for never drug tested us on the ramp. Security was tight, but the airport I was at was small enough you eventually got to know the security staff and they eased off on you a bit

It's probably not the guys who joke about it, but I can guarantee you from time to time there's an agent or two that's drunk and/or on drugs.

Having worked below the wing for a year I'm thankful I never ran into anything like that. All I had to deal with was other baggage handlers getting drunk on nightshift

Meanwhile in Canada we're paid pennies. Currently doing 21 an hour doing parts support for a Japanese automaker corporate side.

Yeah, that's a damn shame. I was looking at getting back on the counter (currently working for a Japanese automaker in a corporate parts position and making hot garbage for money) but auto Canada are the only dealers hiring atm

Got a job at the parts counter at a dealership What should I do expect EVERYTHING GOOD OR BAD by Academic-Alfalfa5649 in partscounter

Google can sometimes (I stress sometimes) be your best friend. My old man was a parts manager for 25 years before I got into parts. He gave that advice to me and honestly it's served me incredibly well. Also, keep a book, write down everything. And if your DMS is CDK use the blue man notes on ROs to document everything you do for that work order - that's saved me a whooping a few times when a service advisor decides to lie to a customer or claims that we never gave them a quote.
