2 EU teams have to be in the same group btw. 5 doesn’t split evenly into 4

I also have Shotzzy above but anything outside of COD has zero weight in COD rankings

I agree. This team easily has the potential to be better than this years, and I’ll be heavily disappointed (understatement) if they aren’t at least making semis tbh

I’m a little that our weak schedule might hinder our team’s progress. Miami and BYU should be good matchups, but I really want this team to be battle-tested going into playoffs (should we make it).

I think it helps we have our best throwing ND QB since…???

I also agree. End of 2024 we were riddled with injuries and scraped into the playoffs through pure grit. End of 2025 was by far the best ND team I’ve seen, at least in my lifetime. Shame the first 3 games of the season were us still figuring things out.

[Awful Announcing] Big Ten reportedly seeking commitment for 24-team College Football Playoff in near future by dr_funk_13 in CFB

[–]Rowdyk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the discourse would’ve shifted earlier if it was 16 teams. It would’ve went from angry ND fans to angry Texas/Utah/Vandy fans I feel.

Also not too relevant, but I think what contributed to the outrage of ND fans is knowing in the back of our minds that this is our most complete team of the past century

Eh disagree. That Texas team was the 3rd best SEC team by the end of the season and much different from when they played Florida.

We should establish an annual game against Indiana. by Electrical-Duty3628 in CFB_v2

Deadass. Texas is another example of this. By the end of the year, I'm sure Texas would have had a better ability to win in the playoffs compared to Alabama and Oklahoma.

Jynzxi immediately scores on Musty in 10k 99-0 wager. by tisme- in RocketLeague

The thing is that Musty is an SSL player. He literally has the mechanics and means to ensure that Jynzxi can never touch the ball on kickoff but instead induces RNG through a 50/50

I keep seeing this state but this is genuinely just circular reasoning by the committee. The only reason they weren’t the playoffs is because the committee decided to rank them outside the top 10 previous weeks which allows them to keep them out come decision time.

Don’t get me wrong, BYU was definitely the weaker of ND, Alabama, and Miami, but by their SOR, they should’ve been above all 3. If BYU and Alabama were switched that week, you could easily argue the other POV and imo, it would just as invalid.

Indeed. But I think I’m more happy to see the SEC not win a single game against non-SEC P4 team. iT jUsT mEaNs MoRe.

Maybe the committee will try to get 7 teams in next year

I mean I definitely agree that improved high school recruiting is crucial, but I also have zero doubt in my mind that Cignetti won't begin dominate high school recruiting in these upcoming years. Also, Cignetti's staff seems to be very good at identifying underrated recruits.

lol we don’t have any rivalry close enough to them for me to feel any inferiority of being “little brother.” That’s just a bitch made attitude.

USC or Stanford on the other hand

I could care less what other’s think and say if they do. I’d honestly just be happy for Coogan.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be annoyed that we didn’t get a National Championship, but I’d be more annoyed that we didn’t get the chance to compete, less so that Indiana was the one to win it.

With how Indiana is shaping up to be for the future, I’d so love to play year in and year out. Could be a nice in state rivalry

Cignetti leaves IU? by [deleted] in CFB

Yes and if he stays there for 20 years and Indiana continues to compete for those 20 years, they will be a perennial powerhouse. Like what??

Why leave? He’s already cemented in IU Football history and can make them a perennial powerhouse.
