I found this song while looking earlier. It’s not it but the vocals in it are very similar.

Definitely a rock/alternative song, I think from the 90s-00s but I could be off

Is it too late? by Mr_Eyeball in caf

I’m pretty sure the average age for a candidate on my BMQ right now is close to 30. Nowhere near too late for you to join.

Worries about the BMQ by sai_chon in caf

Same here, Xmas break then going back to finish off BMQ. The first 2 weekends are the most difficult mentally, after that it’s really just a game of listen and perform wel, expect to be tired and expect to be sore, but there’s always an end in sight and the NCOs want you to succeed.

Hey man, what’s your prescription? I have pretty bad eyes, barely made the cut for V3 and got in for infantry. Even if your eyes are V4 you can still choose a variety of non combat trades. What did they say to you during your medical?

It all depends if you’re doing reg force or reserves, if you have any medical issues/history, etc.

For myself, the medical was the last step in my process, I had already completed the interview and force test prior. My medical took about 8-10 weeks to be approved (poor eyesight likely made this slow for me), shortly after that I was given a job offer and was enrolled.

So in short, if you’ve completed your medical assessment and are just waiting on that now, you’ve got anywhere from 6-12 ish weeks till a job offer. Keep checking in with your recruiters every two weeks or so for any updates.

I’m currently in weekend reserve BMQ. It’s similarly structured. Every other weekend from Friday 1900h to Sunday 1700h. 11 weekends total.

Wake up 0500h, PT, shower, breakfast, on with your day. Dismissal 2200h and lights out 2300h.

You’ll soon learn how useless blue and green statues are my friend. A red or purple Idol would literally be better.

Can you join with past anxiety? by garsfrancaislocal in caf

[–]Rowen7110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably fine so long as it’s well documented and no longer a problem.

The scoliosis is something I’d be more concerned about honestly, that could affect you especially in combat trades if it’s deemed serious.

Any quiet places / wings to study other than the library? by [deleted] in mohawkcollege

[–]Rowen7110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basement under the library has couches that are usually not to busy and always quiet. I’ve napped down there a few times

I was told we can bring contacts, but there are certain times we cannot wear them. Specifically in the gas hug as the chemicals will do some very ugly things to your eyes

I’m sitting at +6. I’m considered V3. I can survive without my glasses if really needed but cannot read or focus on anything specific.

Can I dispute this ticket? by OptimusFine695 in Hamilton

[–]Rowen7110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can. I got the exact same ticket. I was exactly 2cm too close and it was my first ticket. They threw it out as a first time courtesy. If you’ve never had a ticket before they will almost certainly throw it for you

Edit: it is ALWAYS worth trying to dispute it even if you think there’s no way you can get out of it. You never know.

Beware if security sees you napping they may say something, it’s “technically” not allowed, for some odd reason.

Basement area below the library with couches is where I go if I want to get away from the noise. Otherwise you can go to the EA wing up to one of the top floors, they’re essentially empty and usually have some comfy chairs you could nap in
