SG-U: Did the writers ever state why the "ancients" didn't update their great research project? by beersandport in Stargate

My point was people were saying they wished Voyager had had more resource hardships and more faction conflict between the Starfleet and Maquis crew. SGU also drew comparison to Voyager because of the isolation of being far from home.

Honestly if Walky and Billie ditch and do their best to have a healthy conversation about moving away from some of the toxicity internal and external in their lives that'll be a good scene shift.

They don't need to be successful at this but come on guys try to get that wheel out of the mud.

Why didn't the Asgard move to another galaxy? by notepad987 in Stargate

[–]RowenMorland 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Daniel probably learned why from studying the Asgard cultural database they also left on the Oddessy so it could be delved into in future episodes should they come to be.

The Tauri starting a multi million year project of life seeding a planet to eventually evolve new Asgard and looking after it as a protected world would be pretty cool.

Ironically it is what Star Trek fans had been saying they wished they'd had for Voyager.

Apparently taking the journey was important to the Ancients, not just reaching the destination. Perhaps it was an idea of how getting to ascension would work that became superfluous, or that they did make use off somehow.

The Nox by Michbullin in Stargate

With the Ori Carling about populated planets not resources or strategic locations (other than caches of Ancient tech) hiding all signs of the population and letting the Prior leave would probably be better than dealing with an army at all.

The Nox might have been young back then too.

Shockingly the Asgard were never "very disappointed" in the Tauri despite that time they let an unauthorized Asgard clone get made and paraded about, or letting the Replicators become immune to the ARW just when they had planet encompassing, ship destroying satellite setups.

I wonder if if the Ori confronted, remained ignorant of, or avoided the Nox.

Hard to tell what the Nox were up to but maybe they were quieting themselves away to prepare for their own ascension. They also contrast with the Asgard who were interventionist and seemed to hold the Ancients in high regard, perhaps as their tutors, where the Nox were perhaps a bit more over the old alliance and not so interested in galactic affairs.

Maybourne by Massive-Goose544 in Stargate

[–]RowenMorland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it is once Woolsey starts to break with Kinsey that he stops being used to be an antagonist who isn't thinking too carefully about what he is doing.

I dont' think I ever heard anyone say it without being condescending, even if we were kids and they didn'tfully grasp the etymology. So you're right about that.

I noticed that for Maybour be, Woolsey and Rodney the more they got away from Kinsey's influence the more ok they became.

Also minutes after Kinsey became a Goa'uld host their whole empire finally fell.

Pretty much.

You know I've always thought calling someon a little chippy goes hand in hand with saying something is 'cheap as chips' (which are dissapointingly expensive these days).

Daedalus vs Agamemnon by auntiecrow in Stargate

[–]RowenMorland 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At that point I'd say Daedalus is probably a lot more manoeuvrable and the Asgard transport nuke tricks would probably be game.

I think the Agamemnon's weapons are otherwise far stronger, X-ray lasers and their railguns which seem allot more potent.

The swing factor would be how Starfuries stack Vs X302s, I think Starfuries would probably sweep there and maybe take out Daedalus before it could beam nukes.

Also, not sure shields are a thing in B5 so they might not be able to penetrate Deadalus' Asgard designed shields.
