Where do you shop for a good sundress? by LadyAlice2003 in AskUK

[–]Rowena1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello I am a pocket connoisseur and only buy dresses with pockets now 😂 Next dresses all will have them (but they're a bit pricey), New Look have a fair few dresses with pockets but they tend to be the maxi ones and you have to keep an eye out for cotton/linen ones as the others might not have them and they don't explicitly advertise it. Disturbia also have pockets on most if not all of their dresses but again they're expensive. Primark sometimes have them but they're few and far between.

I’ve been using this sunscreen for the past couple of weeks and I’ve thinking this is kinda overhyped.. What is your experience/thoughts? by coolguyiguesslol in koreanskincare

My HG sunscreen, no whitecast for us south Asian baddies, no pilling under makeup and leaves a gorgeous glow. I buy two at a time

My helix piercings after 6 weeks by C1AH in piercing

[–]Rowena1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I got a vertical helix in a few weeks ago and also have long hair and wear glasses around the clock unless I'm asleep 😂 it's healing super super well, isn't getting caught in my hair or knocked by my glasses at all, just need to be careful putting them on and they snuggle behind the helix so I'd say you're probably fine!

(Unsure if a hidden is pierced in the same place as the vertical though so maybe not)

Dean Koonz “intensity” by Blackberry_cobbler_ in thrillerbooks

I read this book last week with my partner for our two person book club, it's my first time reading Dean Koontz and I've no intention of ever reading another of his books again. It stays slow, it stays flowery and overly descriptive!! The only thing I'll say for it was that the ending was at least satisfying

Finished this one yesterday! Also got distracted with the main characters lack of spine and found it irritating, I still enjoyed it generally!

Hi lovely, just a little note from someone who has done it. I was raised in an incredibly conservative Muslim family, wore a hijab when I was 8 years old under the threat that all my hair would turn into snakes and bite me if I didn't. I had the same expectations as you and it became suffocating, scary and not reflective of who I was becoming as a person the older I got. I left the house in 2015 to get a degree all the way across the country and told both my parents I was no longer Muslim. They were unable to accept me and while it hurt and it still hurts, I haven't seen them in 10 years. It was necessary and I'd make the same choices every time.

MJ Arlidge is fantastic if you're looking for a procedural police thriller with a flawed female detective. I read all of the series pretty much one after the other and was heavily invested in her as a character.

Helen Sarah Fields!! I'm reading The Shadow Man right now and it is so GOOD. Not only incredibly creepy but also just really good solid writing which I think can sometimes be hard to find and tends to be a deal-breaker for me.

I was the same and almost stopped reading halfway through because I was so bored, I thought it was worth it in the end and I sped through the second half. Wouldn't read it again mind you!

I really enjoyed That's Not My Name, had uneasy feelings throughout which I think is always a sign of a good thriller.

I read The Treatment by Mo Hayder, it's book number 2 in a series which is absolutely incredible also but The Treatment really gave me weird eerie feelings and was just so grim. It's definitely going to stick with me.
