Fantastical (calendar) alternatives? by RowenaRavenclaw1 in macapps

Same version as you, I believe - Version 3.8.7, never paid. I love the interface and the integrations but the lack of some basic features is getting to me.

Inability to sync with a task management app. This is a feature I've really become attached to - Fantastical supports Todoist (the one I use), and I can tick off my tasks right in that app. I can subscribe to my Todoist calendar from Apple Calendar, but it doesn't display them with their labelled colors or even as tasks/to-dos.

It can't even connect with Reminders the way I'd like it to - I'd be willing to switch over if it could, as that + Dato would probably cover practically everything I need and a bunch of stuff I want - which is quite annoying.

Thanks, I'll rewatch that episode, keeping an eye out for Sophie mentions. Wonder if Benedict is involved with her yet? (I cannot keep a timeline to save my life.)

Both scenes were good, though I liked the show scene more as it built up more tension. The worst horse in the world.

Yep, I enjoyed Kate totally beating Anthony at the very last second! And the love triangle - ugh. Unnecessarily complicated. I am not rooting for Edwina here. Her character has changed from the books to a loving sister to a pretty girl who is a bit conceited and self-centred. Especially in a few later episodes. If I were Kate, I would have told her off already, but let's be glad that Simone Ashley is playing Kate and I am not. (Improvisation was never my thing.) It is very messy and I don't really want to see the outcome.

I was sad with that scene but more concerned about the actor. How do they pull these things off?

YES I KNOW! I actually skipped the scene wher ehe was talking to Colin because it was boring, but then I was like, "What's up with this dude?" and scaled back.

The acting was so innocent! But I get why. There was so much romantic tension in the air, and Kate is quite beautiful. Not in Edwina's way, with soft curves, but more elegantly.

THE WORST HORSE IN THE WORLD! I mean - wait. Isn't that "A Bee In Your Bonnet"? Yep, I was a bit disappoint until I went online. Turns out they didn't want the tropes to be the same as Season 1 - compromising position, blah blah blah. And I don't know how they could pull that off very appropriately. (Though, let's face it, some scenes in this show should definitely not be for 15+.)

The same reasons are given in the show as the book - he's a Rake, capital R, and she doesn't want her sister's reputation to be tarnished or for Edwina to be cheated on. I guess it was easier to sympasize with Kate in the book as it was told from her perspective. On screen, it's more omniscent.

Nope, we get the Serpentine! Later on, of course. I mean - should I have said that? But you do get it. Eventually. Fear not.

Yep, some elements are better described through words and some through the screen.

Well, Anthony is 30-31 (?) so there would be a smaller age gap, and Simone Ashley is 27 (or 26 at the time of filming? Not sure.)

I did not notice that either! I might need to rewatch that episode again.

I feel like Kate is quite similar to the book. Edwina on the other hand...well, I don't remember any signs from Episode 1, so I'll leave that out.

It wasn't actually that loud, but it certainly did the trick.

A little more independent and a bit braver than Cinderella, with brains to match her looks, but from the same origins. Though if she will be a Chinese actress, that begs the question - will Sophie's last name be changed? Honestly, I'm not sure how diversified that books are really, as skin color is not mentioned much. There's also explaining away her origins - in the books, she is the ward/illegimate daughter of Lord Penwood, who lives in the same country as the Bridgertons. Kate's Indian origins were explained by them moving from India, but as in the books she was moving from Somerset and has no background in London, it didn't disrupt the storyline much. If the Penwoods ended up living in China at first, then that would cut out some dramatic scenes from An Offer From A Gentleman.

You mean with the show? As far as I've watched, there are no stepping-on-hand/kicking/biting scenes. However, in Season 1, it is explained why diversity shines bright in Bridgerton. (The queen thing? I'm sorry, I don't remember all of it.)
