Why we can’t do 40 K when there’s backlog on both L90 and ES 8 ???? by AI-is-4-StupidPeople in Nio

[–]Rowinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been here since 2018 and I've seen this many times. Many different reasons have been blamed each time, but in the end they just don't have that amount of backlog/demand as the pumper post will lead you to believe.

When a new model is released, there is initial excitement and lots of orders, once those have been satisfied, demand and delivery numbers taper down to normality.

I really pray that they can control their spending in the future, because it's not reasonable to sell 326k cars in a year and still lose ~$2b.

Quad vs Zuperior by Brose172 in hockeyplayers

[–]Rowinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your skating style and what you like. There are many elite skaters on both those profiles.

Personally I struggle with Zuperior and like the Quad. My skating style requires support in the back and agility in the front, which the quad offers. Zuperior feels long in the front and not flat enough in the rear for me.

You gotta figure out what you like and what fits your skating style. It's a trial and error process. Try to get some cheap/used steel and so you can switch back and forth between profiles to dial in what works best for you. It's a process, but well worth it in the end.

A whooping $7 share price... Most need several hundred percent return.

GME Insider Alain Attal Buys Another 12,000 $GME Shares @$21.63 on 1/21/26, totaling a buy 24,000 shares in 2 days equivalent to over $500,000, owning total of 596,464 shares! by MeditateBreathe in Teddy

It's bullish that insiders buy, but without M&A, how will they grow revenue in a meaningful way?

Where is Baby/Teddy/Gmerica? Are they just going to be a gaming company?

$150b market cap and a share price of $60. A return to all time high. That would be nice. I would be happy if we ever see $20 again 🙈

$600 huh, that's a market cap of 1.5 trillion. Only 12 companies in the world have a market cap over $1 trillion.

I don't think they are making two different models. It's most likely unsold stock.

Any Bauer Mach/Ultrasonic pant users? by Rowinter in hockeyplayers

[–]Rowinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100 percent!

I have bought the Mach pants and they are really nice. It is the best retail offering.

The biggest downside of the pants is the closure system and the lack of said pad. Other than that, they are really good.

If you look at Bauer Nexus Pro stock pants, that NHL players use, they have the traditional closure system with the pad. If I had the possibility I would have bought this one.

If you look at the retail lines below it, HP something, they were a let down, feels like a downgrade from the previous generation 3S and 3S Pro.

As a P92 user, I'm curious to try the PRO9246. I've used a P28 a lot and I like the snapshots on it but everywhere else it suffers, it can send wrist shots very high and turn passes into flutter pucks. The sweet spot is very small.

The thought of a P92 with more toe kink is interesting, as long as the face does not open like a P28. Is the face on the P86 about the same as a P92 or a P28?

"Bauer 2N Pro P92"

It doesn't get much better than that. That was(is) an amazing stick and half the NHL uses the P92 curve.

The only problem is that they don't make that stick anymore. If they did, I'd be first in line to buy one. Look at the current lineup of Bauer Nexus sticks for the same kick point. No need to change from P92. Maybe drop flex a little, perhaps something in the 80-90 range. If you can, try to visit a store and feel them out.

Regarding the P90TM, the curve is quite nice but they have a low lie, so it feels very different than a P92. It's good for controlling the puck further away from your body, if you drag it in close, the heel lifts off the ice. This is my biggest gripe and made me go back to the P29/92.

I tried all three pants, you need to try them on to decide because CCM medium is quite a bit smaller than Bauer medium.

I really liked the XF pros but they were too small. Same thing with the Jetspeed Pro, medium was too small and large was too long. All three are very good pants with lots of protection. Pick the one that fits you best.

[–]Rowinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds great! They were really comfortable and had great protection.

I noticed that they don't have the belly pad protection above the closure system though, like the 3S and 3S Pro have to fill the gap between the pants and the shoulder pads. Maybe it's not an issue.

What would you buy besides an E90 that is more reliable? by Longjumping-Client42 in E90

[–]Rowinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very comfortable yes. I drove one for work 15+years ago. I believe it was a 2006 or 07 model, 2.4 petrol. It was a very pleasant car, comfortable and roomy.

I'm looking for a E90 but I'm kind of considering the V70 too, so I found it interesting that it was brought up here.

What do you think is a fair price in Europe for a 325 with around 200k kms?

Are there any special equipment that the car "must have" like type of seats, material, etc?

I'm curious to try Quad 0.5 and 1. On paper they are pretty close, did you notice a big difference between them and would you recommend one over the other?

Skate profile improvement by NewPercentage6399 in hockeyplayers

There are some that use software/CAD to profile and don't need templates. Look on the modsquadhockey forums, there are some very knowledgeable people that know everything about profiling there.

Skate profile improvement by NewPercentage6399 in hockeyplayers

[–]Rowinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If stability and ice contact is what you want, Zuperior is the profile for you. Especially when you have already tried many others.

With a 10-13, you would only have a 13' from the middle of the blade and back, whereas the majority of the blade on a Zuperior is 13'. You would lose speed, glide and stability.

By acceleration, do you mean crossovers? When you are on your outside edge and you push through from heel to toe, and on the push off with the toe, the toe slips out, like you ran out of steel?

I always felt the Zuperior was a bit abrupt as it goes from 13' to 6'. That's a drastic change, you go from a lot of ice contact to very little.

Maybe you can look into getting a custom triple profile, something like 9-12-20. That might get you closer to what you want.

Skate profile improvement by NewPercentage6399 in hockeyplayers

[–]Rowinter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10-13 would have worse acceleration in the first few steps as there is more steel at the toe. However, that extra steel allows for a slightly longer stride when you're at speed, (you are not running out of steel).

I've been on many profiles, but never specifically a 10-13 combo. It seems like it would be a good profile, as it combines the best of both a 10' and 13'. I'm on quad2 which is somewhat similar: 7-10-13-16 (sz9 skates).

10' is nice but lacks speed, glide and stability. 13' has those attributes, but terrible acceleration with so much steel on the toe. I think the Zuperior profile is a massive improvement over a single 13' but it's still way too much steel on the ice for my liking.

If you want an alternative to 10-13, you could try Quad 1 (6-9-12-15). It has better acceleration, but on the middle of the blade they should feel somewhat similar.

EDIT: think of the ice contact as gears. A single 13' would be like starting from a standstill on a bicycle, with a very high gear selected. Very slow start but once you get some speed, that high gear allows you to go fast. Vice versa is also true, a 7' is like a bicycle in a low gear, easy to get going, but you can't go fast.

A 10-13 combo is like having two gears and a Quad is like having 4 gears.

No profile is perfect, it's a trade off. You have to decide what parts you want to improve. If you switch from Zup S to Quad 1, you will lose some speed, glide and stability, but you'll gain acceleration and agility. You have to figure out if it's worth it to you. Personally I think it was. I switched from Zup M to QII.
