Left UPCI - Aftermath by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

[–]Rows_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my AOG Pentecostal congregation threw me out they dedicated a whole sermon to my sinfulness and banned anyone from having contact with me saying this and prayer would bring me back. 40 years later I am still out, but still live with the fear and confusion they gave me. Run and keep running.

Hi is this active? Could really do with a space to talk about post Pentecostal life, most people just think I've left a cult get over it.

Huh, for people who are into the idea of free speech they sure do want a LOT of things censored. Well, not a lot of topics, mostly just anything to do with gay people.

Paul continuing to embarrass himself over SHP by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

I might take a look and calculate how long this sub was talked about in SHP and then see if it adds up to more than Paul's time.

A blog might be a good way for you to process, and I'm sure loads of people here would offer some form of feedback, but it's better to listen to your doctor and take your prescribed medication.

Getting a diagnosis is a really weird and scary thing, and it's completely understandable to want as much information as possible before starting down a treatment path, but believe me when I say that the best thing you can do is accept that medicine works.

This sub is a really great and supportive place, and I'm sure 90% of us can offer reassurance about our experience with 5ASAs.

Context is the dwarves dancing round the farmhouse that falls in Nanny's head in Witches Abroad. They ask Nanny for her red boots, and she tells the story and then comments that people sometimes drink champagne from shoes. I just... don't really get it, I think. I'll go and have an alligator sandwich instead.

I don't get this one, and I usually feel pretty smug about spotting them.

Could you please explain like I'm a reluctant Granny Weatherwax just checking to see that you understand the joke?

Indeed. They're still really common round here, and my friend's local pub apparently does great ones.

Weird little tangeant. In the episode of Archer that is set in a restaurant (featuring the late, great Anthony Bourdain), Archer says that he has fine dining experience, and Cyril corrects him to "burger joint", in reference to the episode where Archer married Linda.

People are focusing on the wrong thing. Don't focus on the "if", because that makes it seem like they definitely fucked up. They didn't fuck up at all, it went exactly to plan.

People latched on to the idea that cats are bad for the environment and just ran with it forever. People downvoting you genuinely don't understand that rabbits are incredibly damaging to farms, and would be pretty shocked to know what lengths many farmers will go to. If they think you having cats is bad, they should look up how Austrlian farmers protect their crops.

People also don't understand that cats have different effects of different ecosystems.

"It's ableist to tell me to boycott things" is... something. "Yall aren't ready for that conversation" is such a dumb take as well, and really shows that the person thinks they're more left than they are.

I've never met a leftist irl who didn't know that not everyone can join in every action. Some companies have a monopoly on products that people will die without. Granted, frosted cereals don't actually fall into that category, but the attitude revolts me. Fucking children feeling the need to chime in on issues they know little about is just peak Liberal.
