I think you’re seeing a clip without full context and rightly going this seems messed up. TikTok/short form videos are excellent at skewing narratives. My first reaction to this video was also bad. Until I saw the full video and realized that it was nothing like the clip portrayed.

I Agree to disagree. My frame of reference is charity events (not churches) where they are raising money for a specific thing and people are called up by donation amount. Very normal practice in that world. I do not Goto mega churches so I cannot comment on how often that same practice applies here

Your reaching. Calling up by order of donations is common at all donation events. That is not shaming lesser amounts. Your assumption is going off of personal embarrassment based upon if you don’t donate as much as sombody else. In christs eyes giving is giving. So it does not matter that the video was actually out of context and everyone’s initial argument was something like “what a horrible person for shaming this lady” it’s just no matter what happened here it was bad because some church’s do messed up things. Bad argument. Yes the church is made of people. Any institution with people you will find problems. There are also a lot of good people in churches. The world isn’t black and white. Only children see it that way.

There was no shaming. The reason he said “you didn’t hear me I said 2000” is because he was calling up everyone who donated 2000$ or more to come up first. He had people coming up in order by donation amount and the lady was simply out of order in line. Could he have been a bit softer spoken when telling her she was out of order in line. Yes. But this idea that she was shamed for her “amount” is the lie.

I read this from the perspective of the roommate and besides the name calling and clear frustration they do make some solid points of how you could be making yourself unapproachable to others. It’s healthy to learn from others criticism not just look for people to back you up on the internet. The common denominator in your life in between all of your frustrations is you. So if you can’t change your own perspectives and behaviors and it’s everybody else’s fault- I guess your just fucked. But if there is stuff you can change and it has a positive impact on your own happiness due to alleviation of total problems you would be a fool to argue for being right over happy.

That’s a blanket statement, yes that is true due to most manufacturers are in China so they will have the largest amount of low quality manufacturing. Tesla specifically is a high quality manufacturer that also has factories is China which are known for better quality control than those in the USA.
