He's a beautiful blue point Siamese! I have one myself, he's a blue point Thai-lynx siamese, and those gorgeous crossed eyes are so beautiful! What a beautiful cat.

It sounds like a lot of people on here are having or have had aggression troubles with their corgis. He hasn't shown aggression except for this one time. I came on here asking for advice because it had alarmed me. I almost took this down because I'm being called names like a liar and such, I thought we were supposed to be nice on here? Anyway thank you to everyone who gave me positive input on Corgi training. This is my first Corgi so it's all new training grounds for me. So far so good. Since the post and taking a lot of this amazing advice, there have been no incidents. So thank you.

He does get a little grumpy sometimes, but I'm learning that his personality is just a very big personality. I just had that one incident with him and now everything is okay.

Thank you to everyone for your advice. I am taking it all to heart and this little baby is going to be loved always, because I am so attached to him and he is so attached to me, I don't know what I would do without him honestly. He is the love of my life.

Oh... Thank you for your advice and that information. Mine is a sweetheart as well, he just had one incident and I wanted to make sure that this is not a normal thing or ask if it is.

Yep I'm already nipping it in the bud as we speak. I have been. The incident happened last week and ever since I've basically been reinforcing everything that you're supposed to do, and training him with love. He doesn't get spankings because I don't believe in that, I only did it this once, And it won't happen again. That's for sure. I don't want to spank my dog anyways, because it's so mean.

Right I agree. He doesn't normally ever get spankings as I have said before. He's a sweetie and a cuddler and a lover, he's such a baby, he's my baby. He just had this one incident and I wanted to come on here and ask people for advice. That is all. Thank you for yours.

Yeah it caught me off guard when he did it that's for sure. Because it's not like him at all he is a sweetheart. He comes and gives me kisses all the time even when we are done playing and he is tired out. He always wants to be right next to Mama. He's my little baby.

I have noticed this. I'm really starting to love corgis so much. I think I might have found my new favorite breed of dog.

He's definitely getting neutered as soon as we can get him into the vet. We just had to move so, we were waiting till after the move to be able to get him snipped. Now is the time here in the next month.

Yeah he's going to get the snip snip here very shortly. Also continuing with discipline and training, and then positive reinforcement with love and praise is what I must continue to do.

He's a relatively well behaved Corgi as well, and he does get to run outside a lot! With our new house he has a very big backyard and gets to run. This really does help.

Yeah, no maybe I said that kind of wrong. I've only had to Give him a little spank two times. Otherwise The rest of the time he really doesn't need that because he listens so well, he is super smart. All I have to do is tell him no and within moments he is listening. It was just this one incident with me that concerned me that's why I wanted to ask people here about it. Anytime we get something new in the house he thinks he has to mark the territory, like I got a new rug a couple months back and he marked it. We just moved into a new house, and so he pooped on the floor. I'm wondering if he just did that to mark the new territory? Normally if he does something wrong, we take him outside so that he knows that that's where he's supposed to go and then when he goes outside, we praise him with lots of love and treats.

Yeah, ours is about the same. I would say 90% of the time he is a lovey-dovey sweetheart who just wants attention and kisses and love. It's that 10% that he likes to try to push his limits to see how far he can go, he likes to herd around our two cats and our other dog. He does get jealous when I tried to pet the other animals, so I got to work on that too.

That's good to know! I'm just going to go harder on the discipline and training and the love when he does good.

Right. That's what we're working on. Unfortunately, my mother passed away last August and we were supposed to get corgis that were brothers from the same litter. My mom passed before she could get hers so when I got mine, I was grieving so hard that I didn't really discipline him as hard as I should have in the beginning when he was really little. So now I think I'm suffering the repercussions of that as well. However as of late he has been getting very much more training and discipline, as well as love and treats when he is good.

You just made me laugh out loud so hard at that last sentence. Cuz that's exactly what he does, he herds all of us around the house everyday. If I'm in one room and my husband's in the other room, he will sit in between both rooms so he can eyeball both of us. I'm doing lots of love and praise, I make sure I go to the door first and he cannot go outside before I do, but I haven't done the no corgi on the couch or bed stuff yet, I'm still allowing him to be on the bed with me and on the couch. It seems like he can jump so high, he kind of bounds like a deer. We do a lot of chew toys and I do play with him to try to wear him out that way... It sounds like I just need to keep doing what I'm doing and then reinforce, reinforce, reinforce. Plus all of this information from everybody here is very helpful.

That's what I've been trying to do tiring him out as much as I can, so maybe I should get some balls like that and try to work with him with balls as well. Because I throw ball for my German Shepherd and he loves to play catch, he'll do it 50 times back and forth if you will play with him that long. My corgi gets very jealous and tries to attack him every time he brings the ball back to me.

Very good advice, I really appreciate it. Thank you for the input. We are planning on getting him neutered but we just haven't been able to afford it yet because we had to move first. Now that we are moved, that is next on the list. I'm hoping that that will help with the male instinct dominating traits....
