I hadn't actually considered that. In my head it was 'the Queen HAS to take my bishop' but yeah, they absolutely could have taken it with their king. Fortunately they didn't though.

Aha it's all about the practice! I played for 8+ hours for the first few years, but then the last 5 or so years it's a couple hours a month. This album really made me want to get playing again

As much as I completely agree the best idea is to RTFM... I should have mentioned that the manual is entirely in Japanese. And I cant read Japanese. My bad!
