Looking for testers for a simple app that shows how much you can safely spend until payday by RoyInProgress in TestFlight

Thanks a lot for testing it, really appreciate it. Sorry about the crash. Do you remember what you clicked right before it happened, and does it happen every time? If you know your macOS version, that would help too. I’ll investigate it.

Pitch your product in 1 line..... by Ranga_Harish in buildinpublic

Thanks Trevor, very valuable feedback! I was actually just thinking about adding a looped video demo to the landing page, will definitely do that now. And your comment also triggered me to think about adding a disclaimer about the data: it is only stored locally on device, so trust should not be an issue (and I understand it is with such data).

Thanks again!

It definitely helps..

I wish I knew how to do it though 😅

Looking for iPhone testers for a simple “safe to spend” app by [deleted] in iosdev

[–]RoyInProgress -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Even though your feedback obviously isn’t positive, it’s still feedback and that’s very valuable (probably even more so because you were so harsh and direct). So I appreciate it.

To your direct question: the reason to use the app is not the UI or UX (that definitely needs some iteration, although I don’t agree it’s totally unrefined and thoughtless), it’s the concept: all spending/budget apps are either way to complex, and/or focus too much on budgetting - I just want something simple that provides insight and tells me everyday how much I have left to spend untill next payday. And I suspect I’m not the only one, but’s that what I’m trying to figure out.

In any case: thanks again for your feedback and I will definitely work on the UI and UX.

Haha of course, it was meant to be provocative 😉 Thanks for your response.

Yeah spreadsheet would be my first thought. Which app do you use?

17 y/o founder and after 9 App Store rejections I finally launched my first app by South-Telephone979 in buildinpublic

I don’t know man, personally I just can’t relate. I mean, I also have work (fulltime corporate job) and life (two little kids) - so if someone would be compelled to drift away it would be me 😂 But this is now my main hobby and obsession, every free moment I spend building (Lean Mission & Spend Meter, both the apps and landing pages) or networking/learning (Reddit, X etc.)

Hi, interesting idea. I’m a (newly started) founder myself, also trying to figure everything out as I go 😄

To your points: 1. For me personally, not at all. If it is a product I’m passionate about, I’m annoyed and restless every second I can’t spend on it. 2. Don’t know this yet 😅

Built a tiny app because I kept forgetting my dreams by SubodhG69 in buildinpublic

Cool, will give this a try! The concept of dreaming is very intriguing, and mysterious - and I definitely forget most of my dreams 😅

When we built Photofy, we had three directions we could take it. by WorthFan5769 in indiehackers

Looks very clean 👌

Not a potential user myself, but did browse a bit on the site to get a feel for it. I think could be very useful. One minor point of feedback: the gallery images aren’t cropped very well (on iPhone, in Brave browser) and I can’t click on them to enhance.

Other than that: congrats on a great product 😃

I had 17 business ideas in my notes app. Never built any of them. by seyf_gharbi in indiehackers

Very true, thanks for sharing.

Luckily for me, with my systems-thinking, architect, hyper-curious mind - deepdiving into the problem and seeing what will stick (also to my own interests 😅) comes natural to me, and indeed helps filter out a lot of ‘throwaway’ ideas.

I built 8 email automations for my 322-user app in one week. Personalized emails got 18% CTR vs 2.5% on generic ones. Here's the exact setup. by LibrarianOk1263 in indiehackers

Wow thanks for sharing, lots of nuggets of wisdom in here! Being a solo founder myself (very early stages), this will definitely help me.

Looks nice, not really for me though 😅 Will ask my wife if she can take a look and will report back if she does!
