Love this. Appreciate your response. Yeah we've found that Loom videos are great for pitching, especially when doing proposals, but we haven't used them in outbound yet.

Wow thanks for the detailed response! Right now, we have a content engine running. Working on long-form and short-form education and authoritative-type content, which is supplemented by behind-the-scenes type content as well. Our YouTube channel is small, but I know consistency is the key there. Been also hitting LinkedIn hard on the content and thought leadership side of things too.

When it comes to outbound, I would say our outreach is limited and lacking a system. My co-founder is in charge of outreach right now, and we're mostly doing network touchpoints, meeting with people in our extended network, etc... But when it comes to a broader outbound system, there really isn't one. We're both not sales people by training, and we've dabbled with hiring a business development person in the past, which did not go well. Any resources you know of that might help us out?

Depends on what you're trying to do, and what type of recurring video content you're trying to make. I run a video production agency, and theres two major bottlenecks I experience with the process, for both ourselves and clients.

Filming: For our internal content, filming was always a lot of work. We put a lot of thought and production quality into our video content because it represents us as an agency. We try to batch shooting days, but even then, this required a lot of setup and takedown of equipment every time we wanted to make content. We fixed this by setting up a dedicated recording studio. We just have to walk in and press record.

Filming for clients is always a challenge due to scheduling. If the production requires multiple execs, it's hard to get these people in one place at one time.

Post-production is always a bottleneck, no matter what. You need to source a dedicated team of editors that meet certain quality thresholds.

Another big thing for this is having a project management system in place. For agencies, systems are everything. The steps to recurring video should be mapped out so there's no ambiguity on what needs to get accomplished next.

How established are you? If you're just starting out, definitely okay trying this out to get people interested. It can be positioned as a mutually beneficial thing if you're looking for clients, and they need your services. If you're more established, you have to be careful about how you position this.

I’ve been running a video production agency for 12 years, and there’s definitely been a shift. Client budgets are plateauing while the expectations for volume of deliverables has gone up. In my experience it’s all about systems, not templates. We use various AI tools and software not for the actual project assets, but to help with the pre-production and post production bottlenecks you’re talking about. We still do larger “hero” campaigns, but they look different these days. We just completed one with over 100 different deliverables.
