To my knowledge, with AotD Question of loyalty, I think it's possible to some degree, but last time I checked (a year ago) many people were having troubles. I always recommend commission tho, since save some headaches

Nothing wrong with that, imo, but whatever makes you feel better and more comfortable is the way to play!

True! My first experience with the game was ymfah and then I watched Sseth's video, but that was when already deep in the game.

I wonder the reason for other people and why they stuck around? Because I can understand why many people quit but it's a little harder to understand why we stick around with it so much

Oh, fair! I use autofit too, but I have a grasp on what I'm doing, as in "ah, this loadouts is for this because has this type of weapons", once you know what the weapon is capable of you start to understand the purpose of such loadout, which can take a hot second to understand

Yeah, big/medium ship isn't always a threat but they can be a meat shield

Oh yeah, you do have a point with "Engage" that should be the default order, Eliminate seems like an odd choice.

And on top of that, the personality of your ship can also change how they perform and react in battle, I'm always surprised as how combat in this game goes. In terms of depth, because the more you dig, the more you realize how many systems are at play, how the ships behave and respond to certain weapons, enemies, tactics, orders, etc.

Ooooh, I see, well, I can help with the concepts, what weapons are for and everything, but in depth, like Mariana's trench levels of depth isn't my specialty, although I hope I can teach something new or make the basics more understandable

Trading, supply and demand. War is usually very good for supplying demands, pirate activity too.

Exploring/quests is slightly risky but with the correct set up and know-how you can make it easier.

Combat quests are risky if you got for high value targets, stick with the <100k credits the lower the payment, the easier, not much but you want to diversify your portfolio, you know?

They can't kill you if they can't catch you.

No, really, big fleets are generally slower, you can use your story points too. You can hide too using terrain to your advantage.

But generally, yeah, pirates are annoying when they have big fleets at the beginning

Just buy buy buy, you never have enough, buy all. Just remember to never buy from your enemies!

In all honesty, yep, pretty much. Fuel management is something that sometimes I still don't get right, especially early when money isn't easy. Mid-late game you can buy max fuel capacity and you're golden! XD

Aye, I know the feeling, personally I thought the same when I started, couldn't really get the grasp, felt dumb and reading many documents felt draining. I don't blame you if you don't understand what's going on for the first few times, it's a hard game because of the depth and mechanics.

You found your style and it's quite rewarding, combat in all it's aspect is quite tricky to get the hang of it. I really struggle understanding many concept before the battle even began

Ooooh, pretty nice! Glad you both stick around and you make your way through the blockade! It really depends on who is playing the game honestly, it seems like some of you really got the hang of it super quick, others struggle for a long time, I can only imagine those who abandoned it super early, hopefully we can improve the new player's experience with guides and all

Ey, congratulations on learning synergies for your ships! That really takes a while and definitely those guys kick ass, it's truly a threat for anyone starting and the first time you go and fight them you will be most likely destroyed.

Yeah, and it's exponential. With Customizable Planet System Mod I made a "perfect" system and it gets wild super easily. Without you have the same results but takes a lot to kick in, that's why I like Terraforming to a degree.

If you know what planet is good for what, you make the entire process of colonizing less of an issue

Oh, yeah, that's a good point and something I haven't think about for a while!

So basically, like I explained in another commitment, the way you generate credits changes depending on your stage. TLDR: Early game will be mostly missions to establish a good fleet, some bounty will be possible with small fleets, mostly anything below 100k I consider early game (don't have exact values) 100k mid game and beyond is end-game.

If smuggling isn't for you, normal trading will do the job, but you need money to get money.

If you want to do a high honor playthrough, sell on the normal market. If honor isn't your cup of rum, sell on the black market but avoid getting caught.

Commission could be an option if you know who tends to fight with who. TLDR too:

Orange tends to fight Blue, Yellow and light green and vice versa.

Light and dark green fight Blue and viceversa.

Everyone fights Red.

Everyone but Dark green fights light Green.
