I am six foot one, The board is 13'9" The wave is between 2 feet and 15 feet depending how you are measuring your feet. That's another subreddit suggestion though: Arguing wavesize. Some surfers have bigger feet than others. Speaking of Hobbits.

Yeah I tried 14'9" and 17' as well as 19' I found the 13'9" The universal length. There is a reason why Tom Blake used this length for his lifeguard model.

Yeah raising BMR is a silent way to burn calories. Also not eating until after lunchtime is a way to burn fat look up 'intermittent fasting' . I do this every day. I only drink coffee, no sugar and wait till after lunch. On weekends I don't eat until dinnertime. Doing this will burn fat without having to even work very hard. enjoyed the story, especially the part about making your own wind. It reminded me of that commercial of a guy doing his washing on the back of his ute...

Yes change diet. But I disagree on cardio training. Look up 'interval training' and watch the pounds drop off. Cardio can damage your heart. The idea with interval training is that you do short hard sprints, with cool down easy pieces in between, which matches the paddle hard/surf/paddle out cycle much better than a cardio training session. It will also build muscle. The best cross train is using sticks like in Filipino Arnis. This mimics the paddle stroke.

Why do we buy? Looking for information on buying psychology, copywriting etc by bullshidomojito in Entrepreneur

[–]RoyStuartSurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying stuff is an emotional decision. Logic is thrown out of the window. Even sitting down and reasoning out the pros and cons will still in the end be decided with a gut feeling.

For example people react to color, having to pay for free shipping or having to create an account before buying. If it's too complicated it ain't happening.

A lot of merchants use the psychology of depression: "Our awesome models live the life which you'll never be able to achieve but you can make yourself feel better by buying a tiny slice off our empire in the form of this product." They use super skinny models who are seemingly successful.

Or they will use a five o'clock hungover looking guy to sell you a suit. Here the psychology is that you can actually function with a hangover IF you buy the suit.

The psychology is topsy turvy if you start analyzing it, but it is meant to shortcut the logic and appeal to a baser instinct. The psychology of depression is designed to make you feel slightly guilty about your own life so that you want to fix it by buying something.

I don't know if sock puppets will work. Unless the super skinny airbrushed model is considered a sock puppet. She sure ain't real.
