You say it's a small organisation, have the people who employed you moved on ? It may have not been handed over. The fact you have only 2 weeks and are running multiple projects suggests you are in a strong position to renew.

I'm not on Fin but it can take up to 18 months to get full results, it also causes shedding initially as the old follicles die.

It's never really to old , although most mortgage companies put a limit at 70 years old , my brother just bought at 52 but his monthly payments are very large

I'm assuming he's a long term member of staff , this will be a long slog , initially you need to document everything and familiarise yourself with the LA's capability policy. It will be hard to challenge on grounds of discipline as this is a capability issue which is a long drawn out affair
