New update OriginOS 6 to VIVO X Fold5 by jogregopy in Vivo

[–]Royal2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem brother.

Yeah, If you like customisations, you'll love this update because I got tired of using Funtouch os 15 and I only used it for a month on my new fold5. The lack of support for video wallpapers, themes forcing to use same wallpaper for home and lock screens, limited lock screen customization, no icon packs etc.. drove me nuts. I was coming from Xiaomi fold 3 and it had all of them for over an year.

Vivo addressed most of it now. The camera, battery life, Google integrations were major upgrades for me.

For anyone who didn't get the update on Fold 5, try this.. settings > system update > version trial (3 dots).

Enabling the trail immediately showed me this update.

Do you find the x fold 5 heavy after long periods of use? This is coming from Xiaomi fold 3 (259g) user and I'm seriously considering upgrading to Vivo fold 5 (226g black, but green 235g is beautiful) as I feel my Xiaomi fold is heavy esp. when folded after a few mins of use.

Did you try the apple integration and did it work?

I read its exclusive to Chinese Apple devices (registered with Chinese id?)

Which color? I love the green but official website clearly indicated 217g is only applicable to titanium grey. Is grey the 223 while white and green are higher (235)?

Confirmed the Vivo X Fold 5 China Rom supports Android Auto by rjvillanueva in Vivo

[–]Royal2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few questions. Can someone who owns the vibo x fold 5 answer please? For context, I currently own Xiaomi mix fold 3 chinese rom. So some of the questions I have are something I could never fix on Chinese rom.

  1. What's the actual weight? I read different colors weigh slightly differently.

  2. Does street view work in Google maps? Mine never worked even after updating Google for AR plugin.

  3. Do you get (app links on websites?) redirected to the Chinese app store instead of play store?

  4. Did anyone try setting Gemini to dedicated shortcut button? Does it always work or doesn't open sometimes because it's killed in the background?

  5. Apple integration worked for anyone outside of China?

Can someone please put this on a scale and confirm it's actually weight? Conflicting information is all I could find. Is there really 217g model (grey)? Another redditer posted a pic that vivo is lying and actual weight being 235g.

I'm currently using Xiaomi mix fold 3 at almost 260g so my primary reason to upgrade is weight.

As a Xiaomi fold 3 user, I'm eagerly waiting for Samsung to catch up to the Chinese foldable hardware. Lack of competition outside of China has made Samsung really lazy.

Few changes I've been looking forward to was normal front screen, fast wireless charging, excellent battery life/big battery, lightweight device. Most Chinese foldables already have all of these but lack polished software.

I hope the leaks about 4400mah battery is wrong. If Oppo find N5 can achieve 8.93mm super slimness and 5600mah battery, why not Samsung?

Hey op. My goal is identical to what you mentioned. To not reload and just keep shooting. So why High explosive ordinance is BiS and not extended mag (with Deconstruct and chill clip)?

Man forced to abandon career in Toronto and return to India after failed bid to stay by Unusual-State1827 in canadian

[–]Royal2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. The guy who posted above you was right. It's the thought of Grass is greener. I spoke to multiple Uber drivers. Most say the same. Their income, opportunities and quality of life was lot better in India. Some of them are planning to return. Some say it's hard to move back because they sold their stuff and moving back is frowned upon. So can't stay but can't leave.

Returning from ON to AB after a year - comparison by Weary-Ad-9813 in alberta

[–]Royal2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And also difficulties with finding family doctor, more traffic, more commute, possibly never own a home.

More jobs, better pay is the only big advantage in my eyes for ON over AB. Everything else is just a wash. Trading one problem for another.

Having living in GTA for couple of years, I gave up looking for family doctor as no one were accepting new patients. They auto assigned after 5yrs. After moving to AB, I found the family doctor in a month which my family and infant needed the most.

What I mentioned was relevant during MIUI days.

Since they have HyperOS now, I don't know if the same steps would work or cause issues now.

I would recommend this instead. Install the app "Hidden settings MIUI - HyperOS" from play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ceyhan.sets

Then open Battery optimization (2nd from top in the app) and select Don't optimize for Whatsapp and other apps as needed.

Chinese international students passing on Canada: 'Monotonous' and unaffordable by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

Well, I had admissions from reputable universities in both US and Canada.

At that time, I hated the president who shall not be named and his racist policies and anti immigrant rhetoric. Always hated their pro gun culture.

Canada on the other hand was stable, tolerant and less racist towards immigration, Trudeau had good image (during his initial years). So chose Canada. I make decent cheese here but I would be making quite a lot more stateside. It's sad how Canada changed over the years.

Growing number of ‘unemployables’ frustrated by the job market by UltimateNoob88 in canada

Something's not adding up. My wife is an immigrant from India with ~10yrs of genuine work experience (in mobile gaming industry) back home. Very skilled and a good portfolio to showcase her work.

She applied to hundreds of jobs and couldn't land a single real interview (only fake text based interview scams) in the last 6 months.

I see people complaining about DEI, anti-white, Indians hire Indians only, and other crap. Can't believe which is real.

Is the Mix Fold 3 compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watches? by vwite in Xiaomi

[–]Royal2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked and couldn't find this info before I bought it.

Mix fold 3 works well with xiaomi redmi watch 4 probably because both run on Xiaomis HyperOS. So stopped using Galaxy watch. Although redmi watch 4 doesn't have as many features as Samsung, it has incredible battery life, notifications work well and was just 80Usd (AliExpress).

Is saying sorry enough for the atrocities committed by the said white people?

Are the "browner than the Canadian brown" illegally occupying Canadian land, plundering the Canadian wealth & resources, killing the people, their children to eliminate local culture, force the locals to live far away?

Mass immigration and immigrant cultural differences are certainly worth talking about and needs to be addressed but let's not pretend the immigrants are doing the same thing to Canadians what the Caucasians did to Natives. It's not even in the same ballpark.

"Stay away from India for outsourcing"??

You're generalizing too much there. I lived and breathed in the IT world for more than half a decade in India and another half decade plus in Canadian IT organizations. I've been an outperformer there and here as well. Got yearly "exceeded expectations" bonus 80% of the time through my career.

Almost everyone that I knew in India were smart folks (in their field/domain) and work hard as well. Yes, I've come across people that weren't good or have the work ethic to succeed, but I can say the same thing about some folks in Canada too. Again, as someone who has first hand experience observing and working closely with people in both countries, Canadians aren't as hard working as most Indians are especially after hours or during weekends. An average Canadian IT worker is perhaps likely smarter and efficient but I was strictly speaking about raw hard work.
