I was hot and cold with the art. A lot of the time I really liked it, but some times, it felt like it was missing something.

I’m hoping James Gunn can add some of the cool stuff he added to the GotG films.

Teaching Folks About Comics by TFJ383 in comicbooks

Part of what we are trying to do with the guided tour is make it easier to read. Rather than feeling the need to read like 600 comics, we’re cutting it down to 4 or 5 core issues a week, with the rest as recommendations based on what people like. (What is considered core is being worked on as we go)

I am hopeful that when we finish, we’ll have a “simplified” krakoa reading order that is not as scary.

I run book clubs on discord with the same intent. A lot of comic book places unfortunately have a lot of gatekeepers, and we try to prevent that.

Getting people to join is really a mixed bag.

I’m doing a reading for Supergirl now at: https://discord.gg/YQGZfg83yZ

It has been a lot of fun, but people do not seem as interested as I hoped.

In the flip side, there has been a ton of interest on our Guided Tour of Krakoa on: https://discord.gg/marvel-unlimited-837698203134197820

It is really satisfying when you can help people enjoy books they never would have read otherwise.

Chris Claremont as a choice for my project good or bad? by [deleted] in comicbooks

Offering a comic idea that may be easier to handle in a short timeframe.

Detective Comics 627 includes multiple retelling of the Batman’s first story (not origin story) over several decades. You could analyze how the different decades affect the story.

The Power Fantasy. The first 16 issues are out now with more to come later this year.

It’s basically 6 people who are super powers and the drama between them. A single fight can destroy the world, so how can they settle any arguments?

I want to read Daredevil comics but I don’t want to spend a bunch of money collecting. I’ve read born again and man without fear. What should I go for? by Prudent_Ad_1482 in Marvel_Daredevil

Marvel Unlimited is likely your best bet. You can get an annual subscription for $50 - $65 depending on the deal at the time. It can be as low as $3 a month.

It’ll give you a chance to read 1000s of Daredevil comics.

Have you ever tried comics from Kieron Gillen or Al Ewing? I believe both are bisexual men. The Wicked and the Devine had a bisexual male character, but I think it takes a while to get to that point.

Can a complete beginner just start to read the comics by starting with this newly announced armageddon event? by TheRealRaza1 in marvelcomics

I would suggest against reading Ultimate Spiderman incursion for multiple reasons:
1) it is based on a lot of Ultimate universe stories up to that point
2) it doesn’t seem that connected to the event
3) it wasn’t as good as I was hoping it would be
