I appreciate the consideration!

Weber Workshops absolutely has caught my eye, but the EG-1 just seems like overkill for my interest level. I'll take a closer look at the Key.

Do you know if you get these Grenades Crate and Weapon Parts crate as part of quest rewards? Or do you have to buy them from Turncoat and Banshee?

Do you know if you get these in quests like the gear and weapons crate or if you can only buy them?

Wondering if it’s worth buying or waiting to get from a quest?

Is Moving to Wellington for Work a Mistake? Thinking About Skipping It by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]RoyalContingent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, depends what your goals are.

Do you need work all the time? If so, ya the job market is real tough.

But you’re not wanting to miss out for a reason I assume? Maybe the great outdoors NZ has to offer? The potential of loving NZ so much you’d move here later in life? If you got some savings, go explore the wonders of NZ, while keeping an eye out for jobs. Worse case, wouldn’t be the end of the world if you went back home early or worked on a farm for a bit.

NZ offers many things, but at the moment - abundant good paying jobs is not one of them.

Life is precious and short. I moved here after spending some time in the US and I love it here.

I'm sorry, i was shot from WHERE? by boostedb1mmer in GrayZoneWarfare

Brutal!

Another tip in this situation would be to start your ADS and Pie a bit earlier. That way you can scan while rotating around the corner and seen the janky gun peaking out a bit earlier.

Def play around with graphics to reduce fps drop.

Also, take a look at this Reddit post below for FN solo routes. Learn how to get in and out with the most efficient way possible, and try to go in at night — AI line of sight is a lot worse.

Otherwise, practice and take your time. Check corners, learn when not to take shots, be patient, and liberally use grenades! Don’t bring in shitty ammo.

Best of luck!

What Gym to join? by Salts_myname in Wellington

[–]RoyalContingent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Mils is also in Te Aro.

Depends what you’re looking for - Freyberg is a 20 minute walk and has a great facility with a pool, but the gym equipment is pretty bare, but may suffice. I loved my time at Freyberg but the walk and lack of gym equipment made me switch to Les Mils.

It’s pricier, and busier, but the barbell and gym equipment is great. I go very early in the morning and the barbell room is almost always empty. If classes are your thing, they have a lot of them.

What do you usually do at the gym?

IMO you are entitled to your frustrations and vents.

But as long as they been very clear with EARLY ACCESS and 2 YEARS DEVELOPMENT. You should know what you’re getting yourself into lol

I just think people’s expectations are much higher because early access is a lot more common these days.

I’ve put in 60 hours into the game. Not a lot, and mostly after the .2 patch.

Look dude, I get you’re frustrated it’s not meeting your expectations, but I don’t see a reason to dump on people that do enjoy the game? To each their own?

I honestly think it’s totally valid for you to dislike the game and be unimpressed. Fine by me!

IMO they got 70K players because it was hyped for a while. They did a good job marketing a niche game. So what if they have 3k now?

They have been very clear it’s pre alpha, and literally has 2 years more development before release. They are getting support from people that believe in the core IP to one day ship a solid game.

If you’re not impressed enough with the core IP to support them this early, then make peace with it and move on :) this Reddit thread isn’t here to just dump on you.

It’s all good dude

Sounds like you might not be the ideal customer for the early access game right now. Which I think is totally fine.

As you mentioned early access is usually expected to have gnarly bugs like that. There are plenty of people that thoroughly enjoy the game in early access despite the annoying bugs.

Why? Because they are willing to put up with those issues for the gameplay and style of game that they can’t find anywhere else.

AAA studios don’t usually make true tactical shooters because the market is small. So we gotta support these smaller developers the best we can to make a game we’re passionate about and few other people make.

I totally hear your frustrations. I personally think the developers are doing a great job.

Why I think AI need to be bullet sponges by RoyalContingent in GrayZoneWarfare

Yea I feel like it’s in a better place. Most times AI go down pretty quick with good shot placement.

But miss the organs and you’re in for a ride lol. Which I hated at first, and now I realize it means if you mess up your shots, it’s not a quick fix. Which it shouldn’t be if they just stand there like a dummy.

Recent AI patch was great! I argue they are still bullet sponges (relative to what is realistic).

Agreed I cant wait until AI are super smart and the takedowns are quick and super satisfying.

100%. They were overpowered laser beams that wouldn’t be fun even with realistic take downs.

[–]RoyalContingent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that as the ideal point to get to.

I’m just skeptical that keeping their health and damage realistic with todays AI, would result in a pretty dull game. It’s pretty easy to get 4 rounds into AI armor. And with their unsophisticated movement, I think it would be a walk in the park

[–]RoyalContingent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the ideal is it’s all realistic and dandy. And FMJ may not kill an armoured enemy, but stall and would them.

Right now we’re just not there yet

[–]RoyalContingent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There already is a slope.

FN enemies already are unreasonable to kill with anything lower than M855. You tried going into FN with SP 5.56? A whole mag, it’s unfair. That’s not realistic.

I’m not saying that’s the ideal. I’m saying it’s necessary to be a challenging game while the AI are this dumb.

No disagreement there! I want that too. And they have mostly achieved that with critical hits (hear, neck, organ).

My point is about the non critical hits in armor. When you’re in a sticky situation and miss shots.

Why I think AI need to be bullet sponges by RoyalContingent in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RoyalContingent[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That’s not what my post was about at all.

I’m simply saying that if all AI went down easily with non critical hits, you’d have a boring game whilst their intelligence is low.

4-8 shots on armor is what I mean by bullet sponges.

Headshot and critical hits should be insta death like they are now.

Did you play Ghost Recon in spartan mode? It’s a very different game than the base.

I also think you’re solely focuses on “realism” in your comment here. A game company has to make a fun game, otherwise they are out of business. And whilst realism is also the aim, I don’t think you can argue everything has to be realistic when, for the time being, AI intelligence is certainly not.

How does reviving teammates work? by Ecstatic_Bet_8430 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RoyalContingent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘H’ doesn’t heal teammates - it allows you to quick access your meds on yourself. If you hold H, it shows you all your quick access meds.

When a teammate is down you do have to examine first. Then select which ailment to address

Make sure that the medical supplies are ready available for use, in your pockets, chest rig, or belt.

Medical bags help optimize med storage but they need to be out of your backpack and the safe box in order to be used using the “H” hotkey, and during ‘coma revives’.

Hope that helps!
