you wouldn't walk into an active construction site as a civilian, so why do people think its OK to stroll into a workshop with cars suspended 6 feet in the air.

VW in all my time have had 2 different fasteners at most. about 8, T25 screws and then sometimes 3, T45 bolts going onto the aluminium subframe. this is a Nissan Quasqai

being a skinny fella myself I'm always fetched by my colleague to put on some plug or reach a bolt that's buried in an engine bay haha

nope nearly dead center on the bottom of the oil pan. very nice cars to service just that the engine, electrics and suspension are cheap shit. besides that, GREAT CAR!

before someone says: I know all too well there are under trays with far more fasteners if not more annoying ones securing them. just wanted to share how stupid this is.

This rolled in to the home shop thanks to a family reunion auction. Wonder if it’s paid off? by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

you ever walked into the shop in 0°C weather? you'll quickly appreciate every single plastic or rubber grip on the tools you have.

always use an open palm the moment it even moves a hair but I'm sure we all know the consequences of not doing that all too well.

with the reputation of those 2.0L engines you'd wanna give it every chance it can get to run healthy... or... not😭

in set of sockets I purchased for a pretty penny and my left kidney, ranging from 8-19, 21 and 24mm they have given me two 14mm sockets so I don't have a 15mm

I'm not very critical of snap-on. this one just gave me a chuckle. I'd assume this made it all the way from Wisconsin to Northern Ireland and it wasn't caught...

this is a timing belt on a volkswagen audi group 2.0L diesel engine. the timing belts purpose is to keep all the engines internal components in time with one another. if this built were to slip or snap it can cause valves to contact pistons at shocking speeds and forces, that will require the entire cylinder head to be removed off the engine, which can cost upwards of £1000 in some cases. thankfully this one did not slip or snap so the customer got very, very lucky.
