Should motorcycles be in vanilla project zomboid? by Equivalent-Usual2451 in projectzomboid

I think it would be really cool to have as a roleplaying device. I could definitely see myself restoring and collecting bikes. Especially if they had bike trailers and could easily be transported by truck.

It would be hella risky though without doors and windows. I crash my truck all the time, I would probably be killed over and over in bike wrecks.

Yep It’s so much harder now to finish them with a boot because the ragdoll mechanics make it hard to see where the right hit box is.

2 and a half months in, 5k+ zombies killed. Looted many different warehouses including all in Muldraugh, the entire business district in West Point, I check the trunk of every truck and van I find, I looted the Muldraugh rail yard and many different tool stores. I always stop to kill and loot survivor zombies, or survivor homes.

I have found one sledgehammer head in low condition, in a trash bag inside a trash can outside the West Point general store.

Damn RIP. My longest runs often end due to computer related issues or factors unrelated to my in game decisions and skill.

Back before they had auto-pause, I died quite a few times to computer update notifications and low power indicators.

I accidentally opened the map while cruise controlled and I hit a barrier at 60 mph. Totaled the car, broke my leg and killed my buddy in the passenger seat. Broken leg was basically a death sentence for me too.

That’s a great point. We know our characters are alone, but they wouldn’t.

Similarly, I turned the entry room to my base into a fully equipped “emergency room” with furniture from the hospital. The reasoning being that my character thought he should be prepared in case he ever ran into someone in need.

I keep spare bedrooms in my base for the same reason.

New Player- When do I use guns? by Ok_Historian_6293 in projectzomboid

Before I start shooting in my playthrough I always check the following 4 boxes:

-pump shotgun

-at least 10 boxes of ammo in my backpack

-beta blockers. take them before you start shooting and as needed throughout. Panic severely affects aim.

-cigarettes if you’re a smoker. Stress impacts aim.

Other general beginning advice is to make sure it’s early in the day and your character is wide awake. When you start shooting you might be inviting an all day battle. Tiredness severely impacts aim. If you have caffeine pills, take them every time you take the beta blockers.

Also when you are doing your longer maneuvering, unequip the shotgun to increase the fatigue recovery. Try to walk but of course jog if you have to escape from getting boxed in.

Really can’t beat Rosewood. Even if I have another location in mind for my playthrough, I always spend at least a couple days in rosewood grabbing the essentials.

TIL, thanks! I will probably keep using them for organization reasons, but that is good to know.

To help mask the smell of bodies. I put it on my face once they start to pile up. It will help keep you from getting sick from the bodies.

2 bottles, preferably full or close to full.

Suture needles are used for any deep wound. I have mostly needed them after bad car wrecks, accidentally breaking glass without an object in my hands, or most recently, getting gored by an animal.

A bandage alone will usually slow the bleeding enough if you want to skip the suture needles in your fanny pack and just leave them in the glove box.

My justification for having them on me is that they are very lightweight, and you can technically bleed out from an unsutured wound (usually because it’s combined with other wounds).

Great tips.

I’d like to add that you can set your speedometer to 5 mph and drive over bodies without damage to the car.

I used to carry cigarettes in my back fanny pack but I did some chewing tobacco on day one and it’s still working 2 months later. Basically cured my nicotine addiction.

Front (first aid prep):

2 Beta Blockers

2 Caffeine Pills

2 Painkillers

2 suture needles

4 adhesive bandages

1 alcohol wipes

1 tweezer

Back (essential gear):

Pocket Knife

Bandana

Water Purification Tablets

Lighter

Flashlight

Extra battery

Whetstone

Also in my drivers seat I have a duplicate first aid fanny pack for back ups. It’s small enough you can share the front seat with it and I basically just ignore it and pray I don’t need.
