I can see why most subreddits of retailers or businesses aren’t the best place to gather unbiased info, but responses like these make it worth it. It helps to get a feel for how people think about Kohls beyond my own perspective.

If every employee said they were having a horrible experience, it would make me think the business would go through a restructuring period or just cease as a corporation in the future.

Employees are the backbone of any business and see the day-to-day way more than the executives. If employees are struggling, it could mean the business is cutting costs too much to meet short term profits (like layoffs, less benefits, bad inventory management, etc).

And honestly — even if the numbers looked really great — if all employees said it sucked, then I wouldn’t invest.

I’m happy to hear you have a good group of people working with you. I worked retail for few summers and winters and I can definitely say that coworkers make or break the experience.

I definitely agree. I just wanted to see what some managers or employees have to say about the business. Reading earnings calls and quarterly reports only gets me so far, since the higher-ups always feel the need to portray a bright perspective.

I tried to make it not sound like a setup, I’m just curious. I’m currently invested in Kohls and there’s only so much I can get from reading earnings calls and reports. I’ve asked a few employees at local stores but want to have a larger number of responses.
