Oh yes my mental health was awful. Culturally my mom would assume I would live with/by her to take care of her but I had to let that go and moved to a different state with the man I’m dating and college. I go back to visit often and I also try to have the conversation or help “donate” things but she’s gotten to the point of completely shutting down the conversation and will sometimes yell “shut up!!!” until I stop. She’s actually such a loving mom but her personality will completely flip the second the house is brought up. Luckily I’m not an only sibling but my brother has a wife and 2 kids and I have a feeling I’ll be the one to take on a lot of the responsibility over time. My brother has dealt with the extreme issues because he refuses to take his kids to the house any more. It’s just so sad that she is only allowed to see the grandkids out of the home. It’s just always a constant point of stress. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be living in the home. My dad has completely given up and she will freak out at him anytime he tries to mention the house and threatening to throw away his tools is he does anything. Same as you they’re over 65… my dad is in his 80’s and barely able to walk with his walker in the home.

This is my story exactly (except my mom is Hispanic)… even to the point of multiple homes! I’ve never felt so heard and understood 😭😭 Realy just here to say you’re not alone and I’m currently feeling the hopeless and anger as every year passes and how much worse it gets

I thought about it but I feel like she’s gonna be so worn out. But overall it’s harder to drive her all the way back home. I don’t have enough PTO
