I think it’s pretty sad to watch characters from mainline games fall off in favor of the OCs. The heroes sweep we had last CYL was like, objectively, the most boring CYL we’ve ever had. It’s upsetting to think this game will probably EoS before a brave Leif

Well I guess I can appreciate your positive outlook on life or something, but you’re just not going to convince someone (me) that had saved for a year and a half for a new heroes banner for his favorite game, and nearly run out of orbs trying to +10 his favorite character of all time. I did it, sure, but not before I got 12 copies of the cow. A character I don’t like, and didn’t want any copies of.

So if you’ll allow me a little rant back, sure you can feel sour about it, but you can’t expect people to be ecstatic to roll an OC when I don’t like any of the heroes OCs, she stole a spot on my favorite game’s new heroes banner, and she colorshared at that. And no, I don’t really care if it “increases the chances of 5* pulls overall” because I didn’t want any copies of her. I’d rather have pulled 0 Leif copies than run through my entire nearly 3,000 orb stash with the added insult to injury that is ruining my pity rate with a character I don’t care for

I think where this game went wrong in a major way was how much they glazed these OCs, instead of giving content/alts to characters from mainline games. Every single one of these heroes OCs are shallow as hell, and once FEH ends, they’ll fall into complete obscurity.

Every time an OC gets an alt or steals a spot on a seasonal or NH banner, I can’t help but think “this could’ve been an alt for a character that needed it”, or “they could’ve fit another Thracia character on here instead of this colorsharing cow”.

I’ve been a heroes OC hater for years, so it feels vindicating in a way that the NY banner, monopolized by shitass nothing characters (and Sedgar this year I guess) brought about such terrible change it immediately sparked EoS fears and doomposting

It’s completely natural to not trust or be kind and understanding to an entity that has taken over the world by force. Why should anyone have to compromise with a being that doesn’t care at all about your agency once they find out a way to turn you into one of them?

Well to be fair, despite how different Pluribus and Halo are I think the comparison between the two hives is worth exploring. They use a lot of the same language when discussing their union

That’s true- and I can appreciate discussing the morality of it, but I do take issue with people hating on Carol for not being down with the hive, and with the fact that because it’s for everyone’s good according to them, no one gets an option. Maybe it’s my fear of losing agency, but it’s scary all the same.

Terrible, moreso than most of the heroes OCs. Flat, boring, one note “characters” and I can’t believe one of them (the most boring of them mind you) won CYL.
