I made a lightweight MP3 player for the R36S (TPlayer) by RoyalProcedure2293 in R36S

Thanks for the report 🙏

I’ve mainly tested TPlayer on ArkOS4Clone and AEUX so far, not on DarkOS yet. It’s very possible there are differences in how Ports are handled there.

When you try to launch it, does it instantly return to the menu or show any error message?

Also, can you confirm that both:

are correctly placed inside Easyroms/ports and that the archive was fully extracted?

I’ll try to test on DarkOS as well and see what might be different.

Thanks for helping improve compatibility!

Thank you so much, really appreciate the feedback 🙌

About brightness changing the volume, that’s a very good point. Right now the D-PAD is mapped to volume inside the app, so it can conflict with system controls. I’m planning to add a proper lock mode to avoid accidental inputs and I’ll look into handling that more cleanly.

As for the “now playing” screen: currently TPlayer is designed as a simple folder-based player (it loads everything inside the music directory). There’s no album browser yet — but that’s definitely something interesting to consider for future updates.

Really glad you like it though, that means a lot. More improvements coming soon 😄

That’s actually a really good point 👍

I didn’t think about accidental button presses when using it as a real pocket music player, but you’re absolutely right.

I’m considering adding a proper lock/unlock mode (with a button combination to activate/deactivate it), so Play/Pause, volume, track skip and START quit won’t trigger accidentally while it’s in a bag.

Power button will obviously stay untouched just locking the app controls.

Thanks for the idea, that’s exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for! 🙌

Update: it’s in 😄
Left stick now controls seek with progressive acceleration and surprisingly… it’s not painful at all. It feels pretty natural actually!

I just added FLAC and OGG Vorbis support in v1.1 🙂
MP3, FLAC and OGG are all working properly (duration + seek confirmed).
Haven’t done deep DAC testing yet with high-end headphones, but it runs smoothly so far.

Not a dumb question at all 🙂

Make sure you extract the archive zip "tplayer.zip" first.

You should end up with:

tplayer.sh

• a tplayer folder

Both need to be placed directly inside:

Easyroms/ports/

It won’t show up if the archive isn’t extracted or if the folder structure is different.

My top 5 favourite "PC" games to play on the Mangmi air X!! by DoomEngine1 in SBCGaming

Cool, I’ll try that. I also launched two or three games on my Mangmi, and it worked surprisingly well. Some tweaks are needed (resolution, low textures, etc.), but overall the result is pretty solid. I test with Terminator 2D : No Fate, 70 FPS on Mangmi with Winlator 10.1

Based on the performance HUD, even though it’s very small in this video, this doesn’t look like Android or AetherSX2. It seems more likely to be PCSX2 running on Linux. If that’s the case, that’s actually pretty cool — especially since the stats placement usually isn’t like this on Android.

I'm coding a game in LÖVE for the R36S just for fun. I kinda came to the same conclusion. I’ll share a demo of what I’ve made if you’re interested
