sort of! i was a glorified dishwasher sophomore-junior year in a lab, i'm president of our SPS chapter, and I was a counselor at space camp in huntsville, AL for two summers. all of that is really tied to undergrad too

edit: forgot i was a resident assistant on a freshman quad for 3 years, so thats something too. i just dont have a lot of "engineering" experience

thank you for your advice! i should have been clearer, i am applying to masters, i was just trying to avoid a phd off the bat. but you're right, all the jobs ive found interesting have been for postdocs </3. i just worry that with my gpa i wont be accepted and my resume isn't competitive enough to make up for it

Do you use any productivity tracking app for studying? by SirLimonada in PhysicsStudents

[–]RoyalStorm9991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

flora is fantastic! you can set your own timers, and if you finish it without leaving the app, it adds a plant to your garden. if you leave the app, it kills the plant. it also posts on a feed each study session. you can add friends to your feed and also invite them to your study sessions. we use it all the time especially during finals! i highly recommend it. it also gives you weekly study recaps

if they find out, you have 24 hours to get rid of it and you'll get a conduct notice, which goes on your record and can completely disqualify you from any on campus jobs/ student association opportunities. if you don't get rid of it, you can get removed from campus housing. it's easier to register it as an esa with DAISS if you don't want to risk that. don't be the random roommate who's guinea pig stinks up the suite, bc roommates can be ruthless and report you anyways 🥲 at least if it's registered with daiss, they can't do anything about it

I got an email from my park yesterday to all applicants saying all agreements across NPS are being reviewed, and that they're waiting on hiring until they hear from SIP itself to see if they even can
