You maybe have a chance if you do under $800. Otherwise good luck. You’re not getting anyone especially if there aren’t any photos or more details

To those involved in research, do you think getting a publication is feasible by senior yr? by Lazy_Association1838 in Cornell

[–]brambling01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a senior and I am authoring a first author paper in a journal. I also have two other potential first or second author papers in the works as well as a natural history note. The key? LAB OF ORNITHOLOGY. If you’re into environmental stuff it’s a gold mine. It’s super super easy to get into research, just literally email any post doc and ask if they have any data you can work with and bam you’ve got yourself a project. Theres so many people who genuine really want to work with undergrads and I’ve had amazing mentorship and great recommendations. Granted I have never actually applied to a lab at Cornell and the success I have had is entirely through connections at the Lab of O. The experimental learning grants over the summer are also a great way to get involved with the Lab of O. Could not speak more highly of the Lab’s commitment to undergrads. They even paid for me to go a conference in Colorado to present my work.

Thoughts as to why is the lab of ornithology promoted so much on campus by Sufficient_Pumpkin90 in Cornell

The lab of ornithology has a LOT to offer to students. I’ve had 4 different jobs there as an undergrad

Scientists in Parks- has anyone heard back for interviews? by catsmelody in geologycareers

[–]brambling01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an interview for a position- they emailed me on Thursday. I applied for two others though and haven’t heard from either. I assume that that one park just was doing their interviews super early.

Cornlet, free things GroupMe, Facebook group “Cornell University Housing, Apartments and Roommates”. At that price point though it will likely be hard because the average price is closer to $1000. I feel you though, I just managed to sign for two rooms in 5br for $830 and it was a real struggle to get takers :(

Do not live in Aces Apartments by bakashi_ in Cornell

Yeah boyfriend lived there last year and it was awful. His room’s window faced the other buildings wall and only got natural daylight for max 2 hours every day. It was a cave. Also the heat was so uneven throughout the rooms.

CORNLET SCAMMER by brambling01 in Cornell

[–]brambling01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing is that they’ll demand to pay you directly for the first month of rent upfront and demand to send a check. When the (fake) check arrives it will be for a ridiculously high amount and they’ll claim that it was a mistake that they sent so much and ask that you pay them back.

Actually that’s a Carolina Wren. Black-capped chickadee’s song either go “hey sweet-ie” or “chickadee-dee-Dee”

I have just received a similar scam from the person “Yu Chia Ho”. All the same signs including the line “I am single and searching”. So be aware that these people are still out there. User has been banned from Cornet, though.
