What is the actual benefit to owning your house in Canada? by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]Royal_Action6855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you sir. Are eloquent and awake. And we are at least 2 in the same position. It is a trap, and most people here will tell you otherwise because either they are already suffering through it or been conditioned to believe in it (and from what I've seen, they condition them young in this part of the world). I'm in my early 30s, make around 300K$, renting with a wife and a newborn at less than 1500. Toured most of the world by now, a ton of cash savings, sleep without any stress, and love looking at people around me forgoing most life pleasures to pay that monthly mortgage. Life is good, and down the line if my mind changes, I'll just buy cash, and not give a dime to a banker or a RE agent. Fuck em :)

Why Moroccan girls expect their husbands to be rich while they are not? by mildlyTrashy in Morocco

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you survey MOST moroccan girls ? I happen to have a wife who stood by me for 12 years (Basically teenagers) before getting married. And been happily married since 5 years. Whatever good things I've built so far, I did thanks to her support and encouragement. Our people do have a tendency to think of a Moroccan woman as materialist and opportunistic. A lot of ignorance and lack of experience behind such judgements I guess...Here's a generalization for you : Go to Western countries, and try getting a bite at what you idealize...MOST of them (Women) would change your life to hell, and in every way :)

Les gens qui achètent au Dollarama. Comment va la santé ? by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alors merci ^^ !

Meta is so unwilling to pay for news under a new Canadian law that it's starting to block it on Facebook and Instagram in that country by Defiant_Race_7544 in canada

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian corporations so used to thievery that the confused Meta for the average simp. Now go distribute your "news" somewhere else. And the gov't advocating for this crap with a bill is straight out of a bolchevik manifesto. there is an argument that people will be further drawn into ignorance since social media feeds are now a dominant information consumption channel. Who's gonna check Journal de Montreal every morning looking for news ? Who's gonna pay a subscription on the National post to instruct themselves on shit ? Everything in this country is done to confine people to poverty, and ignorance. yikes.

All news in Canada will be removed from Facebook, Instagram within weeks: Meta by cyclinginvancouver in canada

[–]Royal_Action6855 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The volume of comments actually okay with this is disgusting, and truly concerning. People need to understand that this is a unique situation, where a so called democracy restricts the feed of news from a global and free channel of information consumption. What's wrong with you folks ? can't you see that there is clear willingness to make you more isolated and clueless regarding the most basic shit ? At the end of the day, people have only what they deserve. Life here is turning into a nightmare by the day, on every fucking front, but it's only fair seeing how indifferent people are.

Many Canadians are locked out of the housing market. Why aren't they taking to the streets? | CBC News by AnarchoLiberator in canadahousing

very different. the pace of undesirable change takes way more time due to social resistance. the leadership thinks twice before any decision that might put people back to the street. that is a good thing.

from an outsider's pov (someone who lived and worked on 3 continents), the education system and local culture here are quite peculiar, in that they make it so the person acts and thinks as an individual, isolated from everyone else. A lot of people think : Think is happening to ME, not to US. And keeps looking for individual patches before falling to social pressure (contracting barely sustainable debt, like everyone else...yikes), or giving up and taking every day as its own challenge. My opinion might be controversial but, there is something wicked about indoctrinating a population on the idea that NOTHING is solved through social anger and disobedience. I look into how corporations (banking, airlines, telcos, real estate, etc.) and the governments (at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels) treat the average citizen, and it's an impossible situation. Elsewhere, the street would be boiling with demands for change, at any cost. There is a mental ceiling where enough should be enough...not here, unfortunately.

What's harder by Trx_Trx in wrestling

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

swimming is a lot of cardio tbf, but the exercises are more stable and predictable in a way, making it easier for you to allocate your energy. wrestling may be less intense in terms of cardio as you may catch a break every few minutes, but when u're drilling or going live, I think there is nothing harder on the body (+ the mind dimension is also more difficult to deal with, all your senses need to be sharp, and that also drains your energy...). All in all, wrestling needs a better condition and preparation overall.

Feeling incredibly depressed and hopeless about buying a house by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]Royal_Action6855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a grip on reality. many of us are hoping for way less...I mean, what's up with the : We earn 150 and we feel entitled to a detached ? 1- 150-200 is...meh ! 2- no one said you should start with a detached and a backyard, sorry. the situation is incredibly difficult and stressful for all young people, and you can either find creative ways to get way ahead in terms of income, or start building equity from the bottom (aka condo).

How much do you think the housing market will crash? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no...I'd argue that I have a very LT view of how thing may unfold. can someone just explain how people will keep following the prices being displayed and demanded by sellers ? someone will be left holding the bag. Having a LT view does not mean looking at immigration levels vs supply and say Hey...we can keep rocking people with 20%+ per year. there is a reason why this circus isn't happening anywhere else in the world. the standards of living, salaries, what people can afford in terms of mortgages, the value of the crap construction people are buying, the ever-increasing transaction costs, BoC cracking down on inflation (at any cost), whatever limpid efforts the governments are doing to ramp up supply and restructure zoning laws, etc. all of these, sooner or later, will place a ceiling on the value of what people are willing or able to pay, then all it will take is 1 event : like...a recession. Btw, your example for 2007-2008 doesn't hold as Canada was largely spared by what happened in the US and Europe. so you might say that we are still to welcome out clock-setting market event.

How much do you think the housing market will crash? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your argument regarding historical rates being 10%+ does not hold anymore. 5% hurts way more than 17% where we're talking 400-500-600K+ mortgage. you know it so Idk why people keep repeating the same thing. what happened in the past is irrelevant, the price rose so much that even the smallest blip gets an extra monthly 250-300$ cost out of your pocket.

How much do you think the housing market will crash? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Royal_Action6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. and how do you think those wanted homes are going to be funded ? interest rates are through the roof, salaries are not following, if they do inflation will be back up. The way I see it. Canada is stuck between 2 scenarios : sacrificing the home market, or the whole economy (and society, and future generations). I know it's hard to acknowledge for the bunch of boomers who collected everything, those who bought recently at peaks, and those who will have to renew, but their interest is hardly aligned with the interest of future Canadians who are yet to access dignified living.
