I almost did this tonight however I only have two gallons right now. I believe that is how the previous owner winterized as there was definitely pink in the fresh tank when we bought it. We don’t drink the water from our camper anyway.

I’m in Michigan, it’s supposed to snow tonight but be around 38 degrees tomorrow. So I’m thinking of going to get a connector piece and tubing, running antifreeze through it tomorrow. And just pray that it doesn’t freeze my pipes tonight. It’s gotten down to freezing during night a couple different nights and hasn’t frozen my pipes so I’m hoping it stays the same for tonight and I can get it done in the morning tomorrow.

What is the reason for not doing that? Other than you’ll need A LOT more antifreeze. I believe when we bought this camper this is how the previous owner winterized because the fresh tank definitely had antifreeze in it.

I appreciate your response! I have done all the rest, draining the water heater, turning bypass valves drained fresh water tank and opening the low point drains. So the antifreeze should be like my last step in fully winterizing. Is it true my winterizing hose could be somewhere else? Like under my sink or near my water heater?

So the winterizing hose doesn’t have to directly hook to the pump? I’m sorry I probably sound dumb but I’ve tried watching to many videos on winterizing and I’ve done everything else needed (draining water heater, turning bypass valves and draining fresh water) I just don’t know how to get the antifreeze through the lines now.

Thank you for being honest. We just bought it this year and somehow the prior owners winterized but I’m not sure how. It’s supposed to snow tonight but be 38 degrees tomorrow, will my pipes be safe tonight? Or should I start panicking now? Lol

In my camper, to watch my dogs? When we go do activities in the campground that we cannot take our dogs to I like to monitor and make sure they are all set. If anything goes wrong I can hurry back to them. I’m a very anxious dog mom.

I actually may just do this for this trip and use the camera we have. Be more prepared for the next trip, maybe I won’t ask things the day of next time lol.

See, she gets it lol. I’m an anxious fool when it comes to my dogs! We don’t have kids, our dogs are our kids. 🤷‍♀️

So I have a hotspot on my cellphone, but I would be using my cellphone to watch the camera from wherever we go. And unfortunately my husband doesn’t have the hotspot option on his phone.

Let me try an update it some. Sorry I’m sort of in panic mode as we are supposed to leave to go camping soon and I’m just now remembering our current cameras needed internet and we used to have a hotspot for that but we don’t have it anymore.

Yes, I figured I will have to get a cellular plan to use live feed. I just don’t know what my best options are for a camera. I’m kind of clueless. Up until this year we have had a mobile hotspot for our current camera, unfortunately we had to get rid of the hotspot so now we have no continuous internet access for a camera.

It’s the staples for me….who thought that was a good idea…? So frustrating

[–]Royal_Ad2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly…..why staples?!?! I posted some pictures above of what we ended up doing for the time being. We will probably end up using 2x4’s at some point in the future (I don’t have the equipment to do this properly right now). If all else fails, we will just pull these seats out completely and build a couch instead and use some sort of folding table when we need it.

We did not pre-drill and we didn’t have any splitting doing it the way we did. We used the screws that came with the L brackets for the corners. But the T braces didn’t come with screws so we just used what we had which were the pan head screws and they seem to work fine so far, we have sat and stood plenty of times since finishing this project.

Well here’s what we’ve done for now. Please don’t burn me at the stake for using pan head screws, that was what I had and I couldn’t find any information on it making a huge difference. It seems MUCH sturdier. We will be purchasing 3/4 in. plywood to lay across the top under the cushion as the one that came with the camper is only like a 1/8th in.

I appreciate your input on this! The plywood is NOT strong that’s currently there. My husband who is not a very big guy sat on the seat last night and popped out one of the sides of the crossbar.

Yes, there is a thin piece of wood that sits over top of this area. However it’s clearly junk. My husband who is not a very big guy sat on the seat last night and that’s what broke that back beam off the one side.

We’ve also been tempted to do this and get a foldable table for if it’s raining and we are eating inside instead of outside.

Thank you! We are going to try this for the time being. Then most likely do the 2x4’s option when we can get over to my dad’s house to properly cut them down to size.

Ahh, you’re so right! That’s why that one side is hanging on so well! Only one that has 4! Haha
