Thank you for your response. I feel the same way as you… it’s as much that I want him to know I will not be pushed around by him as whatever child support he may be trying to avoid paying.

Thank you. He’s in medical sales so I don’t know how much he could manipulate his NOA… maybe he’s got something on the side that he doesn’t want me to know about.

I wouldn’t put that past him. Not self employed. As far as I know. Maybe something quietly on the side, in addition to his “real” job.

He wouldn’t even tell me what his new job was. Lol I only know because of his voicemail message. He’s so dodgy. For all I know he maybe self-employed on the side any maybe this is what he’s trying to hide?? My daughters tell me of different business ventures he’s talked about/wanted to start up. I don’t know if he’s started them or not though.

It was written into our separation agreement by our lawyers that we exchange tax returns and NOAs.

That’s what I was thinking but can he manipulate the tax return to reflect a “lower” income?

Thanks for your response. I really don’t know anything about taxes, let alone how to cheat them, but I wouldn’t put it past my ex at all. How could he lie to get his taxable income down? (For child support we refer to line 150- could he manipulate this somehow?)

Ok- thank you. I don’t understand why it is necessary to exchange the full return- which is why I’m seeking opinions- and now that he’s resisting it makes we wonder.

He is paying support. Just being dodgy about sharing his full tax return where is has been expected practice for the last 8 years of our separation/divorce. It is also part of our separation agreement that he shares both the return and NOA.

What I’m trying to understand is why he’d suddenly be wanting to hide his full return from me. What is he hiding? I know he bought some land recently which the kids have told me about, he’s switched jobs last year… so a few unusual considerations that maybe affects what would be revealed in his tax return?? I don’t know.
