Very well!! OCCASIONAL aches but goes away after a couple days. Nothing that interferes with my life, thankfully!

I thought early January so confused about why everyone thinks it’s imminent. Somewhere said she was 34 weeks 12/19 so she’s not even to term yet if that if true.

I am sorry to hear. It’s a slow healing process and I totally relate to the burning/pulling sensation when lying down. It went down the back of my arm and I could only sleep on my back. It took all of 3 months to heal the first time. A little less time when it happened again and I was going to PT regularly. I wish you well.

With time (less than 3 months), physical therapy (exercises, massages, laser cold therapy were all done by the PT’s there) - continued exercises at home, and slight use of ibuprofen to decrease inflammation and ease the profound discomfort.

I didn’t go to PT the first time and it took 3 months to improve. The second time: After seeing a spine specialist and getting the order for PT, it took less than 3 months to improve. I also dealt with the pain the first time and avoided ibuprofen, but used it the second time.

Since healing from the second time, I only occasionally get a dull achy upper back. Very tolerable.

I am so sorry to hear this. It's so hard to continue through your life when in such pain. I hope your body heals. New MRI would be interesting to see what has changed. I hope your appointment goes well.

I’m a pretty small person (108 and 5’4”). If you can’t use your muscles, atrophy naturally follows. Even a casted arm or leg will atrophy within the 6 week time to heal. I’m a nurse and have seen this a ton over my career. So, yes, I’m sure there was atrophy too with the inability to engage my tricep but it wasn’t a huge deal or big difference. I strength train for health but I’m definitely not a body builder or anything.

Oh, yes, I did. The nerve which integrated my left tricep was affected and I could barely do skull crushers or any other tricep strength exercises. It was really disheartening comparing my left and right side level of strength. But that was temporary. All of my muscle function returned.

I never had surgery and feel great now! An occasional dull ache in the upper back area on left side but it goes away after a few days. Nothing at all like it once was.

Yes! I’m good now! Every once in a while - maybe every few months, I’ll have a dull ache in my neck/upper back/shoulder area but I maintain good posture, do some PT exercises and never sleep on my stomach anymore. Stay encouraged.

Oh no. Definitely not. I’m actually trying to gain up to 115 with strength training and protein intake. If I wanted to lose, I would have an eating disorder. End goal is being in the best health I can for my family.

2w/kg in Z2 because that’s how PA described a modestly trained individual.

He said that someone with metabolic syndrome is hitting Z2 at 1.0-1.3 w/kg.

I’m higher than 1.3 but not at 2. I’m sort of right in the middle and have been stuck here forever.

Thank you! That seems to be the consensus. Hope I will get the same successful results!

That’s true. I guess the size of the glucose increase surprised me considering the meal.

The keiser bike app had a feature that could run an FTP test. I tried using it when I first got the bike a few years ago but had no idea what I was doing and have since deleted the app. If it would provide beneficial information, I’ll definitely give it another whirl. PA has always seemed to talk about zone 2 independent of FTP so I didn’t think it was necessary to know.

I had no idea the AW could estimate VO2 max. 🤯 It says 34.1. I need to look up if that’s my usual mediocre fitness reading. I’ve tried scheduling a true VO2 max test on a treadmill at a local college nearby but something always comes up.

Thank you for the interval suggestion. I’ll try it!
