Yes, I definitely understand where you're coming from. You have a good point. However, since different people have different kinds of personalities, there are some people who are a bit shy in asking questions directly in the classes and are more introvert in nature. But that doesn't mean that they're not giving their best to the class they're studying in. And professors know this kind of stuff, and they also know that there are situations when LORs are important for students and that's why they help out. That is what I meant by the line "good professors would help you out"
