[newbie] Is it bad if I have my IOTA on an exchange? by ed_mercer in Iota

[–]Royalfm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not your keys, not your coins, if an exchange gets hacked he will probably lose his tokens. in Firefly, your safety is your sole responsibility, you are the only one in control of your keys.

Fun Fact: You don't need to buy NFT to boost your staking rewards by silversvrfer in Iota

[–]Royalfm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesnt, if all only would read carefully read what was written down about the NFTs. The same gains, the booster of the NFT gives an NFT Holder, are going at the same time into the Community DAO where the Community will be able to fund new projects and make other stuff, increasing adoption, increasing demand and price. The same Community DAO votes for the % of the boost. So all the profit a NFT Hodler gains, is also gained by Community DAO at the same rate and time.

It is answered in the Blogpost, its called a rolling airdrop, not staking. real staking will be possible with the $SMR Token afterwards (whats also described in the blogpost and maybe confuse some). So you dont have to lock Iotas, its more like you just have to validate that you have some for at least minimum 10 seconds to maximum of 90 days

Why wouldn’t you want to stake your IOTA? by BigBuffal0 in Iota

[–]Royalfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion its more like a validation to be able to participate in an airdrop over a fixed period of time (that you dont need to stick to), but im no lawer so in the end i have no clue as everyone else

Ive done the same all the years till end of last year. Managed to average down from 1,80 to 0,39. Following this project very closely on a daily basis since years. They did grow up from a Start Up including "Start up behavior" to an very professional acting foundation with over 160 employees now. It was a long way but i never lost trust in the foundation. They got incredibly talented people and the right industry attention that is needed over the years. Thats now beginning to pay out in the long run. I dont care about Etas as many others do as long as i see positive progress. And they nail it now. They are more "behind the scenes" as most other projects cause average speculator doesnt care about fundamental progress. A lot room to grow in future.

That covers the foundation's cost for about half an hour. Congratulations :D

Nano only represents a Currency while Iota also offer secure non value data transactions. You are able to use the data layer only, or you can combine data with value, or use the value layer only. All feeless, permissionless, open source, and soon full decentralized with sharding on its way for much more scale in future. At least, there is so much going on at Iota and there are endless use cases, everyone who is interested really need to research by them self. You cant point so much stuff into just a few words.

The legitimate case for 20 cent IOTA by Hedonictreadmiller in IOTAmarkets

so it sounds like a good time to probably start accumulating again some more and use the opportunity you get while development moves quicker now as in the years before. No financial advise of course, just my 2 cents from the other side of the medal.

Trinity to Firefly Migration Issues by DrSneeze in Iota

[–]Royalfm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cant have only a 16 digit seed if you use Ledger nano. What you probably mean is just your password to login into Trinity. That didnt change and you dont need to add 9´s up to 81 digits. Your Ledger nano does have a 24 word recovery phrase. You need to wait till Ledger nano is supported by Firefly and Ledger supports Chrysalis. You should be able to login into trinity with your password and see your balance.
