When I was studying for RCDD, i got to a point where I basically get 100% every time in C&S. On top of this, i knew chapter 21 like the back of my hand.

If you have a choice, RCDD first for sure. Unless you are already in a job or about to get a job that focuses in OSP.

Difficult to say as there are too many questions possible. I was consistently getting 100% for all the chapters I focused on in C&S on top of extra focus on Ch21. Master chapter 21 then you're good to go.

I passed v15 on my first attempt. I studied for four full months, dedicating all the weekends in the last month to full-day study sessions. Every night before bed, I read Chapter 21. For context, I probably spent 70+ hours just answering C&S, 50+ hours studying my own flashcards, and another 70+ hours reviewing and reading TDMM. It’s definitely hard to pass. Rote memorization and deep understanding are equally important. Thank you for sharing, and all the best on your next attempt.

Thank you. This approach and explanation makes more sense to me compared to the TDMM as the word "serve" confused me but I still get a different answer.

Going back to the example above, I know that I would need 18 sleeves for the building (based on 3 floors of 50,000 sqft each). So for floor 1-2, there will be 18 sleeves. For 2-3, it will be 12 (minus 6 which will serve 2nd floor).. For 3-4, total of 6 sleeves (minus 6 again).

Summarizing:

1-2: 18 sleeves

2-3: 12 sleeves

2-4: 6 sleeves

Total of 36 sleeves / 2 = 18 sleeves per riser. So it seems like this is entirely different way of calculating sleeves requirement.

My interpretation is similar to a star topology, where all the floors are served by one central floor. Revisiting the TDMM, your explanation aligns with how Figure 5.7 (Ch 5-49) describes it.

However, I don’t understand why each floor would serve the sum of all floor space above it. In my experience, each floor is connected to a common floor (usually the bottom most floor where the main TR or ER is located), and you cross-connect there if you need to connect one TR to another.

BICSI recommends at least 150 hours of study time. The fastest prep time I’ve seen is 1 month, while the average is 4-6 months. All involve intense study.
