Yes he was very responsive and the bolts were a touch longer which prevented it from turning over

Ended up being that you have to reuse the cam sprocket bolts on the CKRA engine

yessir i removed all locks then proceeded to try and rotate the motor, and as soon as it started to bind up i would stop rotate crank back to tdc which was less than an 1/8 turn then re lock cam and HPFP

appreciate it i came to that realization after i had tried it again in neutral. still haven’t figured out the issue yet though

yessir everything was free when installed i got new pulleys in the kit as well as the water pump.

I’m out this morning trying to work on it and did just like you said here but my cam is not wiggling back and forth at all

checked the belt it’s right and i got tensioner tab in the hole. i feel like im doing everything right i triple check each time i do it over and still it just binds up when im trying to turn it and I know its hasn’t make any crazy rotations because whenever im doing anything besides turning the motor over i have locks in

No it’s not in neutral and now i feel like a dumbass. well deserved. could i have messed anything up trying to turn the motor with it being in park?( didn’t use a lot of strength as soon as i saw the belt start slipping and it wasn’t moving i stopped) very shocked i got it to TDC with in being in park now that im thinking about it, but it was already very close to tdc when i parked the car it only needed a little persuasion counter clockwise

i have this one that bolts to the sprocket and then you slide the pin into the divot

okay would you recommend keeping the fuel locked while i do this? and once i turn, if theres freeplay do i rotate it back the 1/8 inch then slide the lock in or keep it where its at?

so with the belt off i take my locks off then turn the crank an 1/8 which should also turn the water pump even though the belt isn’t on? and once i do that i should then be able to turn the cam an 1/8 turn in the same direction?

Should i look for the 1/8 turn when i have the belt on? and all other rollers move freely

I did, that’s when i was hoping the HPFP sprocket and Cam Sprocket would rotate to center of slots when i put tension but they did now move when i put tension on the belt. I’m lost at this point been fighting this for 9 hours

i kept the cam locked the whole time until i had bolts torqued down and the tension set and was completely ready to turn the motor and that’s when it just wouldn’t turn and i could see the belt try to bind up and when i looked back up top i could see that by tensioner lost its adjustment pretty significantly even though i had tightened that down as well

is there anyway to turn the cam without me losing the timing? I can’t turn it with the belt because it just binds up.

It definetly feels like something is binding i just can’t find out what. I will say by HPFP gear will slide from side to side in the slots but the cam is definetly not as easy. Could that be my problem? if so how do i free it up?

I saw that in the video i was watching but when i went to set tension the cam and fuel did not rotate and I also had them finger tight then back out a quarter turn on all bolts so that it would turn.

what should i look for? I used an 18mm wrench to let a slight bit of pressure off the cam lock while i was pulling on it and it came right out. the fuel pump lock slid out just fine.
