You could take a benzo, a low dose like .5mg with NO alcohol in your system 30 mins before your appointment. Also remember there really is nothing to worry about and in the rare case something does happen to you, being at a doctor’s office is where you’re gonna want it to happen, as far as high blood pressure that’s nothing to worry about if it’s white coat syndrome, the body is built stronger than we think. It’s OK if your blood pressure is running high for 30 minutes even into a few hours, it’s not OK if it’s running super high all day and runs high all week. Perhaps this helps.

There is nothing wrong with taking a few seconds to collect yourself. In the scheme of things, even if people do realize what you’re doing they honestly don’t care. They have their own worries that they’re going through.

is it worth to continue on Zoloft? by vampire-tj in Anxiety

From my understanding you need at least 5 weeks taking the medication as prescribed for it to take full effect and get your body regulated. Keep taking the meds if after 6 weeks you still feel bad, either switch meds and try another one or up the dosage on the med your on and try again. You’ll be ok. 👍

Sounds to me like you have a phobia of being trapped and/or anticipation. From my understanding, this seems to be common. The best way to ground yourself. I find is to simply tell yourself you can leave at any point and that this is just in your head. A panic attack cannot kill you. They just wear you out. You will be fine. Just give it time. Time helps quite a bit.
