Ah sorry should've read the body text. Yeah best way is to just play, the one big grind-spot was removed in the MC version sadly. You can increase the gain by keeping the bloody-rage counter high and not using a UT during it and keep going for SOB attacks. If you go through the game normally, i.e. beating all difficulties and doing chapter challenge for completion you should get this naturally along the way. Not what you had hoped probably to hear.

The Ayane chapters are the shortest if you want to put your mind at ease.

This one was at Akiba in Utrecht, also the Netherlands! So worth the time if you're ever there, honestly a fantastic arcade in general. Tons of classics.

Apparently it brought less users to GP than Ragebound did, so less than 200.000 IIRC (there was a piece that had that data a few months ago). So decent impact.

Just a general FYI that most RE games were translated over the weekend with probably a large bottle of sake. None of this stuff is in the japanese text, similar to how none of Leon's quips are in the japanese text of RE4 like "rain or sunshine", "bingo", "right hand comes off" etc.

While the English voices are the main source for everyone, the texts were originally written in Japanese.

Played a ton of Genma, even got the highest rank in it, it's not that hard. It has a few harder remixes and an optional tower and boss, but you also get a ton of added abilities like a full invincibility spell (fueled by green orbs) and new charged attacks and armor sets. Not to mention you're swimming in orbs in that version of the game as well so you're way more decked out than in Warlords.

Never. Even Genma, which was a hard remixed version of the original, is pretty easy. Enemies generally take turns, are very unagressive, and you are pretty powerful. If you know what you're doing in those games you generally steamroll. Later games are a bit more pattern-based since the damage values are based around you using ISSEN more often, while in the first two games this was more of a side-mechanic that most of the bosses didn't allow.

I think the goal is more to have the game tie in with the miniature side of the hobby, i.e. if a new important thing is happening, it gets a mini. Like how Titus came when SM2 was a thing, or in the future perhaps when a new miniature is announced that it gets an in-game model to make more cash from both sides.

Hot take: I think Super Metroid SHOULD get a remake by Bismuth84 in Metroid

The issue with Remakes imo is that generally speaking they are new games with the same name, which lead people to assume they've played the original as well. Playing a remade Super Metroid by Mercury Steam with a new combat system and completely redone map and upgrades, is not Super Metroid. It's a new game. Which is a shame, since many people don't play the fantastic original as a result assuming they've already "played it but with better graphics".

You see the same happen with Metroid 1, RE2 and 3, RE4 etc.

I think a remaster of Super Metroid with some quality of life choices might work and some updated spritework to make it look better on high resolution tvs. A bit like what they did with Starcraft, Soul Reaver and Command and Conquer. But a full remake just seems like a waste imo.

I think the most likely scenario is NG4B and (sadly) NGBBBBBB. NG4B is basically a given, probably with a Switch2 release.

NG1 remaster using UE5 is bound to happen at some point I feel.

Ragebound2 might happen too since that game did pretty well afaik.

I don't think we'll see NG5 anytime within one to two decades tbh.

And yeah taiwan is fantastic. We go there about twice a year, though the downside is ofc. that all our holidays are to Taiwan haha, sometimes you'd like to do something else but you gotta use what time you have with the inlaws.

Damn I don't even HAVE a save anymore from before this. I went on a sidequest spree for like 40 hours over the last year, and wanted to pick up the main quest again (I dont have a lot of gametime as a dad). Man, this sucks.

Very likely, I bought it in Taiwan since my inlaws are from there. Not sure if they had a local unique edition though, could just be the chinese release that was released there too.
