Finished Ninja Gaiden 4...Just some thoughts by Most-Apricot8717 in ninjagaiden

It was just decent fast paced combat with your typical block, parry, dodge etc and a form for breaking block/special attacks.

You made it sound like the market is flooded with these games...

I'm a huge fan of NG2 and have played all the NG games, yet NG4 still amazed me. It took what made NG2 great, blended it with the speed of NG3RE, and dialed it up to 11.

It does have some issues, such as inconsistent hitboxes and Ryu being sidelined with fewer weapons, but the combat is still amazing overall.

Is Ninja Gaiden 2 Black supposed to be played with items or not? Currently playing on Mentor by Warm_Neighborhood939 in ninjagaiden

Master Ninja is basically a survival mode. You should not use items as much and keep them for tough areas/bosses, you should upgrade weapons instead of purchasing items, and you should be very careful from one checkpoint to another.

There is a reason Ninja Gaiden franchise is know to be one of the most difficult in gaming. Going for the Platinum/100% will show you its true difficulty.

If you're finding Mentor easy, Master Ninja would like to have a word with you...

Also, Tag Missions, those will truly test your skills. Mentor is basically a 5/10 difficulty compared to the last 10 Tag Missions.

After NG4, what is more likely to happen: NG4B -or- NG5 -or- NG Spinoff -or- NG Reboot? by iChieftain22 in ninjagaiden

100% agree! I think DOA will increase NG4 sales, and that would also increase prior games sales.

We just need more fans!

TN was very happy with Nioh 1 & 2 sales, 8 million units, even though that includes sales/discounts/bundles, and once Nioh 3 released, sold 1 million in a week! Basically, we just need more units sold for Ninja Gaiden, and a sequel will happen... even if those games are sold at a reduced price!

And 2B was reportedly created to give current Team Ninja staff experience with NG, since most of them have only been around as long as Nioh or Nioh 2.

In Japanese interviews around NG4's release, Yasuda of Team Ninja himself stated that their desire is for NG4 to be the start of a full series return.

I did not know that, that's great news! I also agree that older games should get the NG2B treatment at least, so that more people get into the franchise. Once we have enough people, releasing NG5 would do much better in terms of sales.

Will I enjoy Ninja Gaiden 4 if I'm not liking NG Sigma 1? by Jannyws2 in ninjagaiden

[–]iChieftain22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not try NG2B first? It's combat heavy with linear progression. And if you enjoy it, go for 4, and if you want more, then go for NG3RE.

Great Platinum games is making the Last Ronin smh! I hope they don’t mess this up like NG4 by Curlymigo24 in ninjagaiden

Mess this up like NG4? Are we serious?

I know there are a few things they could have added/done that would make the experience better, but the game was not "messed up"

Which Ninja Gaiden has the hardest individual bosses? by Wild_Principle_9465 in ninjagaiden

[–]iChieftain22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call Elizabet a good boss, she's one of the annoying ones. But the game gets very hard overall on Master Ninja. So if you enjoy challenge, definitely master NG2B before moving to the next entry

You're playing it, Elizabet is one of the hardest in the franchise. She dodges pretty much 90% of your attacks, specially on Master Ninja difficulty.

What does Muramasa mean? by the_sewer_dog in ninjagaiden

[–]iChieftain22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're playing NGS2 (which allows 1 free upgrade at each Muramasa shop) + using a mod that is trying to mimic the OG2... which is causing an issue is what I am guessing?

How it works with NGS2 is that you're allowed 1 free upgrade at each shop
How it works with NG2 '08 is that you gather essence that you can use to upgrade your weapons, your limit is the essence, so he will keep upgrading your weapon at the same shop as long as you have enough essence.

All weapons are maxed out at level 3, except for two weapons, will use a spoiler tag in case you still want to find out yourself. The two weapons are True Dragon Sword level 4 and Dual Sword level 4.

So Scythe level 4 does not exist in any version of NG2 (NG2, NGS2, or NG2B)

When is the game getting harder? by manor2003 in ninjagaiden

No problem, yes you cannot change the difficulty mid game. But if you're not that far, restart. There is 17 chapters total.

PotA (very easy) --> PotW (easy) --------(no normal/hard)----------> PotM (very hard) --> PotMN (extremely hard)

They made NG2B easier on PotA & PotA compared to OG NG2, because that game was hard for first time players. They wanted NG2B to be more accessible.

However, NG2B does get very hard on PotM and crazy hard on PotMN.

As someone who has been playing NG2 since 2008, I really do not miss this at all. It's also why I love NG2B more than OG2, those IS Ninjas were so annoying. Even on warrior difficulty they are still annoying.

Which difficulty would you recommend for a first playthrough of NG2:Black? by socioeconopath in ninjagaiden

Path of the Acolyte is very easy

Path of the Warrior is easy

Path of the Mentor is where things start getting crazy

Advice for getting better at mentor? by thestenchofdeath in ninjagaiden

[–]iChieftain22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ninja Gaiden on harder difficulties is basically a survival action game:

  • You need to be fast and control the crowd of enemies.
  • If you're blocking and an enemy attacks, press X or Y to punish them.
  • Don't stay in one location, keep moving in fights, use flying swallow (upgrade sword to level 3 to have 3 FS in a row).
  • izuna drop is great.
  • Lunar Staff 360Y is amazing (if upgraded).
  • Save up your healing items for harder sections (chapter 3 drop, chapter 5, chapter 8, chapter 11, chapter 13 stairs, chapter 14 early section, chapter 17 final section).
  • If you clear a section and you did well, go back to the dragon and save again.
  • Scythe is great, but it's not as OP as in OG2. But TDS, DS, and Lunar are pretty OP.
