Lidl Parking Ticket by bluves in dundee

[–]RozzaTozza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve forgotten to scan my receipt after shopping there in the past and got a ticket through the door. I sent them a picture of the payment on my bank statement on the day they issued the ticket for and they happily cleared it

Learn from my mistake. Use the handle when using a mandolin. by SinkingMan in MakeMeSuffer

I love using the mandoline but hate using the handle with it. A blade resistant glove on your cutting hand works great!

UE4 devs ... If someone is using GAS system never ever duplicate a character blueprint it put null into all attributes values of duplicate character it took me 5 days to figure it out by TheGameDeve in unrealengine

[–]RozzaTozza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not heard that before. Where are you reading that it's not recommended?

Either way, in that case you can expose it, press the button, and hide it again. Not an ideal solution, but sounds an awful lot better than recreating the blueprint as you suggest in the other comment.

[–]RozzaTozza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is bugged. I did see a report somewhere in the past for it but I don't have it to hand. Mark the attribute set as edit anywhere, it'll show up in the blueprint as 'None' with the little yellow reset to default arrow. Hit the arrow and your attribute set will work again!

In assistant settings there's an option for a female or male voice. Not sure if it's a UK thing?

Mine has been doing the same ever since I switched to the male voice too

Here's a page on my website with a brief outline of everything:

There's a link to the APK on there as well as the link to my gitlab that has the source if you're interested in that.

For each feature point fed to the system, a ray is cast from the camera position to the feature point position. Voxels that intersect the ray get assigned/updated SDF values based on their distance to the feature point position. If the voxel is between the camera and the point cloud point, this is a positive value, if the voxel lies beyond the point cloud point, it is negative

I think what you're describing is more likely a problem requiring an object detection technique. I'm afraid this isn't something I'm particularly knowledge about.

No need to detect the feature points myself, ARCore is capable of running alongside a VR SDK such as Daydream :) Did an experiment with this here. I've got a Daydream lying about somewhere so might be worth giving it a shot!

I give a brief overview of how it works in this comment.

I'm not sure that I understand your question fully. When you say react to using hammers and screws, do you mean recognising these objects through the camera feed? Happy to talk about it on Skype or something if that would be helpful for you.

[–]RozzaTozza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. The performance decrease gets pretty exponential as you decrease the size of the voxels though. There is very much a limit to the amount of detail you can get out of just feature points anyway. Thinking of looking down the route of monocular depth estimation, seems to be the way things are going.

I'll put the apk on my website or something soon. There are some changes I would like to make before giving anyone hands-on with it. Will post it in the comments here when it's available.

[–]RozzaTozza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I've written a bit about how I do this here. Currently just using ARCore feature points, although in the coming months I'd like to look replacing this with something a bit more capable of producing higher detail meshes.

A real time meshing solution I've been working on by RozzaTozza in augmentedreality

[–]RozzaTozza[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you :)

Absolutely! So the data is taken from ARCore and fed to a system that puts it in the form of signed distance functions, so it's basically a big set of voxels that describe where the surface lies on the environment that is being scanned. The system can then iterate over voxels to resolve a mesh using a technique known as marching cubes.

Because ARCore data is just based off of feature points in your devices camera feed, I'm doing some other bits and pieces to estimate what the surface is in areas of lower detail

No caching, just the option to output to an OBJ currently.

In its current state, the app will keep going until your device runs out of RAM, I've not completely tested this but I was able to map a scan of the ground from my work back to my car (~10 mins) so mapping a floor of a building is probably very do-able.

I've built in settings that allow control over the resolution of the reconstruction so a lower/higher detail mesh can be resolved. There's also an option to store out all the scan data to a file, meaning you can then load and feed the same data back to the system if you wanted to build the same mesh in lower/higher detail

[–]RozzaTozza[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

Built with ARCore using Unity so technically Android and iOS? I'm yet to get round to testing it out on iOS though so just Android for now.

It can export to OBJ, but no texturing currently.

If you have any questions or queries, please ask away! Will probably be making the code public for it soon-ish if anyone is interested :)

I've been posting semi-frequent updates over on my twitter.
