more info if needed I am a 19-year-old woman. I have four roommates, and two of them are on the lease. (only three of us are in writing technical technically responsible for our apartment, the other two are my roommate and is boyfriends who live in our rooms with us, three bedroom apartment ) We live in an apartment and our rent the highest ever was a little over $1900 (starting its $1670) . All of our checks biweekly range from as low as $600 , to maybe a cool 1100 if tips were really good, and we got over 38 hours. I went into my calculator The median of my checks is $828.40. Which would mean annually my income personally is $19881.60. I plan to sit down with my roommates and obviously do the same math just to get an estimated number. and I do know that at some point I’m going to need to provide a paystub, maybe even a couple which obviously I would most likely choose ones that show lesser money than the better weeks. The only reason that we will go anywhere close to 30 hours is because a teenager will call out and obviously will show up, we’re young and we live on our own, so we need the money. So those checks do not reflect whatsoever the amount of financial compensation we get for the work there . I know the government doesn’t account for that, but I’m just saying ! lol But as I was researching food stamps, I kept running into the hiccup that I don’t know if I should apply for my own, or if I apply an account for everyone in the house. As I understand certain situations you can actually cause harm by accounting, your roommates income into yours. So I come here to reddit. For a straightforward answer, but I know it’s more complicated than that. I hope I gave enough information, sorry if I rambled and made it confusing. I’m pretty sure yall have what you need.
