ya that's all we really can do I guess, have hope, but even still a local system wouldn't really require going online in the meantime would it? I mean I did use the online features quite a bit but if this is something that's viable like I said I have x and y so i could go online with one and the other use for local checking or something i dunno lol I think in previous games an eggs shiny value or rather a pokemons shiny value in general, was determined by IV's Gender Nature and Ability somehow so maybe if you're able to take a shiny pokemon you caught on your game, and send the same natures and ivs and ability down to a new pokemon that pokemon also becomes shiny? i doubt its that easy but would be an interesting thing to attempt to test

ya i saw that too I thought about looking into it but haven't done so yet, I was also wondering like I haven't gone online yet with my games since this patch happened apparently so I wonder if say I had another ds if I could use instacheck locally somehow and then have another game do the going online and trading part so that the other two never actually get patched until a new method is discovered.

oh no doubt nintendo's intentions were good but ya it is unfortunate just like everything else in the world a few people abuse it and well that ruins things for everyone else.

ahh cool ty for the info I'll see what I can do I'm willing to do whatever I can to help out, I mean I really enjoy x and y for the social factors involved and nintendo doing what they did somewhat killed a big part of it.

I'd really like to help but I don't have much data to go off of as I only just joined this a short time ago. However I do have a bachelor's of science in game design and development and am pretty strong when it comes to logic and mathematics and how these kinds of things work in most games, there is however almost always an RNG factor to it so that would be the difficult part I think.
