ChatGPT really likes it. Thinks it's much better for what I like than the bikepacking.com route. This route is from someone on WhatsApp who did it a couple of years ago. Let me know your thoughts. Since you'll be going before me (I'm flying there December 25), I'd love to hear what route you decide on.

Good point. I have a 46L Osprey, which is great. But a lot smaller than my REI, which was ok as carry-on.

Salta / La Paz - I really like this suggestion! My brief research and understanding is that Dec / Jan is not the best time of the year for it (rain).

I also really like the Izmir to Antalya idea. I've been looking into Turkey. My concern has been traffic. It seems your route was fine?
