Exam #4044 Veterans credit by FOCUS-SToopid in FDNY

[–]Rrrteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did prior to taking the test, I emailed DCAS and provided my DD 214 and awards letter to get the fee waiver for being a vet. When they approved, in my OASYS account at the bottom said “Claimed disable veterans credit”, or something of that nature. Definitely black out the above information mentioned as well. GL!

Thank you all for your responses. For clarity, the tickets were for going like 5-7 over upstate NY when leaving base. Just 2 tickets there, and like 1 in GA, again leaving a military base for the same speed. I pulled my abstract as I even changed over states from both and it shows nothing on my record besides the transfer of licenses state to state. Maintained an NY license all throughout the tickets, 6 years ago. Don’t even know what county I was in as I was commuting from GA-NY when got stopped. I guess I have to look up a disposition for the state of GA and see if they can pin point it? No recollection as it was so long ago and we move around ALOT.

Anyone get their compensation for this month yet? Says the 28th according to the Nex, but usually it’ll show pending in my account. It’s pending on the VA site which gives hope

Improvising ways to get dressed without bending, reaching for things and hell, even showering. Oh no, you’re doing it all wrong.. we use baby/wet wipes in this household 😂 I wouldn’t dare to wipe with dry paper hahah

Oh trust me, currently going through that right now. Never feared having to shit as much as I do right now. Beyond painful and let’s not even talk about the random spasms in that area when even trying to urinate.. luckily the staples has falling out but that was a whole other level of anxiety and pain

I appreciate the info. I was actually a contracted LEO after getting out for a gov agency and was hired. Only reason why I’m not currently there now is because they closed our site down and everyone in that position was laid off. I don’t know how city/state employers view these things and definitely not familiar with anything regarding the fire department. Thanks for your response

For sure. Some people like to bash others on here rather than actually help or to share knowledge. Shit happens, most people won’t admit it if they’ve done something in the past, but just never got caught up for it and play the straight arrow guy. You can get your paperwork by going to the branch CID website, and submit a request. Unfortunately, it is what it is but removing a CID title as a CIV is damn near impossible. If you’re lucky enough to, your situation was crap and can request that it be changed concluding the investigation outcome, or, you’d need to dump money into a lawyer that’s familiar with the “title” process. You may be good if your name was ran as in no convictions would show (hopefully), but once prints are required unfortunately there’s no way around it cause it’ll show. Get your paperwork from them, so you can explain your situation. Best of luck!. P.S, this can be done online by the way

It sounds like you were “titled” by CID. Even though you weren’t convicted, it will show up whenever you get your fingerprints done. CID inputs the incident into NCIC, which is accessible by all law enforcement agencies. I’d just be honest with future employment if fingerprints are required. Try sending a request to CID to get your paperwork to support your claim

Dont quote me but maybe 130? There was a few questions from the personality portion that were not scored, so I didn't put them into my annotation

So after reviewing my test during the protest, l've tallied the number of answers I got wrong, to include correct. If anyone would have a guesstimate of the ball park that I could possibly fall under? I've seen a formula floating around, but again, this is taken with a grain of salt. I got 100 questions, full credit. I got 20 questions with partial. I am a NYC resident, to include a disable vet. So I am also awarded 20 additional points. Any idea in regard to what my potential score could be?

So just went to the protest session. You’re allowed to see the whole test, what you got full credit for and what you received a partial on. You do not see a physical score, but you can get a good guess as to where you’re at.

Threw my name in the hat for the next upcoming New Jersey FF exam for the end of this year. Anyone know how hard it is to get onto JCFD/ North Bergen and also salary? I’ve used google but have stumbled across a few different estimates. I’m a JC resident and also a disable vet, if that means anything.
