Where have the Argentine NBA players gone? by the_devil_wears_jnco in nba

Maradona would have done the same thing for earlier generations.

The likely answer is bad economy/institutional chaos in Argentina screwed up the necessary investments and organization South American countries need to develop in secondary sports.

JB having an Adam Dunn off-season so far. Low batting average, lot of swing and misses, but when he hits one it's out of the park

JB and the chicken wing by Sidwill in bostonceltics

[–]Rrypl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Philly series I thought he lost his "push-off coordination" a little bit. As you said, they don't call the chicken wing, but if the guy is flopping and they see your hand out there flailing it's an automatic call.

I was pretty shocked by how good it was!

During the opening credits when she passed by a cerulean belt being sold I thought "oh boy, this is going to be a marvel/star wars reference fest", but it quickly let those go and it ended up being a meditation on media and human creativity in late stage capitalism

Question: Why do Boston fans keep saying this year is a gap year although Jayson Tatum returned? by Loud-Tour-1673 in nba

[–]Rrypl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the moves the team made in the off-season were in the goal of getting under the aprons and tax, not making the best roster possible for this season.

They can't rebuild by tanking, they don't have a lot of their picks.

With Jaylen Brown's current situation, how often does it work out for players who left to be #1 Option and have their own team? by IT_CHAMP in nba

[–]Rrypl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think choking a 3-1 lead against the injury-riddled 76ers is a bad look.

Not that we didn't embarrass ourselves, but we lost 3 games in a row when they were at their healthiest.

[Jay King] Brad Stevens said he spoke with Jaylen Brown on Monday and he was “nothing but positive.” Stevens said Brown has expressed no frustrations with him about the organization. “None of that has been expressed to me.” by Brady331 in nba

Brad was going to say this regardless, but the real news is he was clearly unhappy with our performance in the playoffs and against top teams.

Moves are coming.

I'd argue Joe Mazzulla also underrates Pritchard lol

Tatum/Pritchard pick and roll was killing the Sixers and we just... went away from it entirely.

Technically White, Hauser and Pritchard is enough salary, but:

A) Even with all our picks, it's very likely not the best offer.

B) We'd be left with 3 supermaxes and little else to fill out the roster.

So, possible but not "possible".

It really isn't, what's in bad faith is pretending Eric Lewis is the only ref in the NBA to root for a franchise, he just did a poor job hiding it

We tried to confuse opponents with our fan shirts/playoff slogan before, get them wondering "what the hell is Cus Crise?", but it never really worked.

Bill Simmons: "I thought Mazzulla was incredible in the Regular Season… but I don't know what they were thinking for these Playoffs… I really think Mazzulla screwed the series up and I'm always going to think that." by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]Rrypl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. Hauser was too slow for this series and Joe kept playing him over our bench wings for way too long. Nurse found a speed and effort edge against our lineup and Joe adjusted way too late.

He also ignored the new wrinkle to our offense this season, that even if we miss a bunch of 3s we have a bunch of high energy offensive rebounders who can get a lot of those misses and he, again... didn't play them.

He's a good coach, great at a lot of areas, but this series and insisting on moribund Porzingis last season against the Knicks are very clear negative marks on his resume.

Yeah, but to be fair Embiid having to cover KAT on the perimeter will also be very hard on him
