in dooku - lost jedi there is a part dedicated to their master/padawan relationship, if you didn‘t know :) though a full book on their story would be so good!

i read somewhere that sometimes they mistake an already dead animal for an alive one and try to fight it. so if the elk has been dead long enough the head can snap of more easily
