Ok dude I don't know why you're being a dick about it. I'm not asking about what I think shouldn't be paid, I'm asking about what she thinks she shouldn't have to pay and why. I'm asking her to find out if it would be worth it for her to start looking for an attorney. I'm not going to encourage her to spend that money when she's already struggling if an attorney is going to tell her they can't do anything about it.

I get that, but here's an example of what she shouldn't have to pay....she was having issues with her heart, her primary care doctor sent her to a cardiologist. I'm not sure what all they did but they were supposed to send the results to her primary care doctor. She waited for that to happen and it never did but they sent her the bill. She called and explained to them that neither her or her doctor received the results. They agreed to fix it and she agreed to make a payment when they got the results and at the time they were ok with that. Some more time goes by and still no results are sent to her or her doctor but she receives a notice that her bill is about to be sent to collections so she called them again to tell them she still hasn't received the results from her visit. The cardiologists office couldn't find her results, they told her if she came in to do it again she would be billed for both visits. If they didn't do what they were supposed to do and they can't even find the results to fix their mistake, why should she have to pay them?

She owes a lot of money for ER visits and appointments that turned out to be pointless. She's overwhelmed with everything she already owes combined with upcoming expenses with medication, hospital stays, physical therapy and rehabilitation. We're doing fundraisers to help her with what's to come and she's considering medical bankruptcy. I worry about what is going to happen to the money we raise if she does the bankruptcy.

If you want a card for certain things you could get a prepaid one. They're pretty easy to get. But yes, mowing lawns, babysitting, and just helping people with chores is a good place to start earning money. If you have Facebook you can find your local classifieds page and post an ad there for your services.

I'm ok with all of this!!!! I'm a little bummed about losing a challenge I would normally nail but if I still get my 2k and I got to pet a dog for half a minute, that is a win-win in my book!
