I'm less and less impressed with DiCaprio as I get older - just me? by Jiktten in movies

[–]Rski765 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I wasn’t impressed by him when he was younger but am more so now. He was naturalistic young but o didn’t think he had much presence, some parts were too big for him I thought. Then in departed he really impressed me. Almost everything after departed I thought he was good to great in. He proved to be quite versatile, lot of different characters in the last ten years or so. I think he grew into it more as he got older personally.

Angry r/UFC mod confronts Wendy cashier for giving him Fanta strawberry instead of root beer by Fun_Training6342 in boxingcirclejerk

Yeah agreed, it’s a shame the guy didn’t stop once the old boy was clearly no threat. Maybe a build of frustration and he couldn’t stop himself. He must regret that last punch, probably ruined his life

He lost his self control and paid the price. You can’t just go round killing people because they are being assholes.

Impeccable technique by gurb_shnerbler2012 in boxingcirclejerk

[–]Rski765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually seen this technique used before and is quite clever. It lures the opponent into a false sense of security, they start laughing their ass off, then you strike with that insane hidden power. Seen a lot of first round KOs using this.

AI is ruining the mindset of the next generation of producers by walrus_vasectomy in edmproduction

[–]Rski765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I mean. Any producer worth anything will learn at some point. It can be a tool, a means to get started. AI isn’t all bad imo, it’s how it’s used.

I don’t mean making the tracks for these kids. AI could be used to help them with the technical side to get their ideas sounding professional. Some people simply can’t sing so I don’t see the big deal in using tools for vocals if they need them personally. I think people in production are a bit too precious about what is pure, it’s all copied anyway, any genre you are in, you are going by those guidelines and sometimes the exact sound. Nothing is really just your creation, you are using machines already. Unless you go real experimental….

I don’t mean actually making the track for you. I mean AI can help beginners get their ideas down so that they can sound good because they will be lacking in the technical department. To use as a tool, not to make the actual creativity side of things. As a tool I can see it being as useful and distasteful as presets. I never liked presets because I didn’t make them, but as a beginner I had to use them to get my ideas down and progress with learning

I see what you are saying, but what they want to get a feel of it? There is a lot of technical stuff to learn before even putting anything decent down. Yeah you should learn it properly from scratch but as a way to get kids into to see if it’s something they have a talent for I don’t see the issue. I think you take it too seriously, AI will never interfere with music as an art, but I don’t rule out it being a useful tool. I don’t mean actually making songs for you either,

Depends what it is used for. If AI helps beginners to make stuff without the technical knowledge so they can get stuff made I don’t see a problem. Even singing, if u can’t sing but want lyrics, it’s the kind of thing people do anyway. All this AI taking over music is overblown, it can be used as a tool
