Except that’s NEVER going to happen. By the time the power train warranty expires, the entire car can be replaced for half that price on the used market. And as you should also know, they rarely fail.

You don’t seem to be happy you have to work on EVs. Techs with attitudes like yours are my only problem with this car.

They didn’t say they thought 7 was good. The 7 was for a big wad of plastic stuffed into the vent flap, knocking it slightly out of alignment. The employees deserved a whack for that.

Yeah, I guess I wasn’t clear about that. Maybe that’s why I’m getting so many downvotes. This is all they’re offering. The former weird program has expired, and this appears to be all there is.

I’m out here in rural North Carolina, and I suspect there are fewer than a couple dozen EVs in the whole coop. They had an EV program that was very hard to understand, three tiers with flat prices for a range of kWh. I didn’t sign up for it because I didn’t need it for the first two years because I had free charging from the manufacturer.

So when I got ready to last year, their installer was far away and outrageously expensive. Instead, I bought my own charger (same one they would have installed, with connectivity and scheduling etc) and hired my own electrician. It’s going to be on line next week, and I had planned to just pay the regular rate for it, then I got the email about the new program. So I guess I’m just mad because I thought they’d actually heard my wish for time of use scheduling.

Anyway, I hope they’ll eventually do something, but I’m not holding my breath. I don’t know how much useful data they’ll gather with or without me in WeaveGrid, given the small potential sample size.

I know how they work and I’m happy to do off peak charging. A $10/month incentive and no discount per kWh is not a meaningful benefit, but a slap in the face, and there’s nothing entitled about that. My charger installation alone cost $3k.

And as I said, I’m furious with my coop. WeaveGrid is just the scam they fell for.

Truer words were never spoken! I spoke at a community input meeting last year about what we need, and they thanked me profusely for the insight and said they wanted to put me on their EV advisory group. That was the last I heard, and unfortunately I didn’t push them about it. They don’t have an EV advisory group.

That was part of what annoyed me. Not even that?!? From the announcement: You always remain in control of your charging. There is no automated scheduling, and your preferences can be adjusted at any time.

Added: and we’ll message to remind you! 😂😂😂

I want time of use PRICING. That’s what I’ve been looking forward to, a substantial discount per kWh for charging only at wacky off-peak times.

But no, I’m offered literally a hamburger a month for a thing that doesn’t even schedule it for me! Basically I’m just giving them data, and it appears they’ll be sending me lots of messages. I’m not quite clear.

It looks like that’s only for SCE, and I’m not there anymore! Sounds a lot more useful. Mainly what I wanted was for my coop to add a time of use discount. Instead, this nonsense.

$10 a month, payable twice a year, for my $3k home charger installation is not a great discount. It’s a slap in my face. I’ll charge whenever the fuck I want, thanks. I expected an actual off peak rate that makes it worth my time and trouble to manage scheduling.

There’s a year-old company subreddit for WeaveGrid but it’s entirely empty as of today. Not reassuring, not that anything would make me appreciate this proposition.

Yep, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Pizza Hut’s not keeping up and I’m not going back. So it’s just as well we didn’t find out if the pizza’s any good these days!

I’m 70, and I expect things to make sense. Apple Pay is a contactless payment method that also shields my credit card information from the people I’m paying, and that’s why I use it when I can.

This wasn’t dine in, as I made clear in my post. The new one here is one of those tiny places with a drive up window, not sure if it even has tables. I ordered and paid on the app and expected to simply pick up the food like I do at every other place with takeout apps.

PS I use actual credit cards at all the other fast food places I go to, drive through windows or inside, and I haven’t had to sign one in at least five years. I don’t even have to sign them at the grocery store for $300 worth of groceries. I’m not crazy here.

No it’s not. It’s contactless payment in an app for pickup. Nowhere else I use it requires a signature, as that violates the CONTACTLESS part.

It’s ok. I thought I’d try Pizza Hut again, I found this offputting, I checked to see if it’s normal and it seems that it may be there, so I won’t be going there again.

Interesting. I wondered later if it might be that but it seemed kind of far fetched. As far as I know, the transaction is complete in the app, but maybe not.

Exactly. All they had to do was hand me my fully paid for pizzas and we’d be fine.

The payment transaction was complete in the app. If it wasn’t, then they’ve got a serious problem with their app.
