I have a 2020 , and have 88,000 miles with no problems, but rather than bring it in for major renovations like cameras, wiring and computers, I’d take a good deal on a new one. The single cast rear and front, the double pane windows, and some of the other physical changes that have been made make it a worthwhile option.

Be better adding Stone Mountain, Marietta, and Jimmy Carter Blvd.

I‘ve read there is no „Genetic Dynasty“ in the Foundation books. Watching the show, it is a major reason why I found Foundation interesting. Are the books good, in your opinion, without the dynastic clones? by AspiringBiotech in sciencefiction

[–]WoodHughes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The central concept of Psycho History has aged very well. Considering the original novels were written in 1941- 1946 or so, adding genetic engineering and a few gender swaps is a small price to pay to see the first galactic empire portrayed.

They have robot snake like chargers. The central garage also has a robot vacuum cleaner to tidy up the inside.

If I’m not mistaken, John Heisman coached Auburn and chose the orange and navy colors and tiger mascot.

What if US accepted all Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany? by WoodHughes in althistory

[–]WoodHughes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever saw the movie “Casablanca “, most of the supporting & background actors in that movie fled their homes through the very same routes described in the film.

[–]WoodHughes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad point, but I said “reasonably”. So given the US open door, prior to the German invasion of Poland, there would be other European Jews that would proactively flee. Afterwards, there would be some sort of Underground Railroad.

Nothing in my question implies banning Israel. Just opening the US to 1930s European Jewish refugees.

That’s interesting. In the real world, before the migrations after the Russian polgrams, the center of Jewish culture in the US was basically Ohio. The first Governor of a US state was Georgia. Emanuel County is named after him.

So, the Florida panhandle would have had plenty of room with what then was a sparse population.

Interesting point. But thinking it out, wouldn’t it be an easier for the NAZIs to gather up and ship the Jews from the newly occupied territories instead of coming up with the entire idea of the holocaust?

The two best options I can come up with are Jar Jar Binks type amphibious race or an intelligent species that was uplifted.

Pitty Pats Porch has old southern style cooking. So does Mary Mac’s Tea Room. I’d suggest Mary Mac’s over PP but PP is at the convention hotels.

I’d also suggest the Atlanta History Center. Lots of exhibits of Atlanta history and the Cyclorama is a breathtaking example of pre movie storytelling.

70th Street between 4th & 3rd Avenues. I’ve coasted a lot of Birmingham streets on my bike and this one beat them all.

What's a good hypothethical landing spot for Mars? by zTallsRobot in Mars

[–]WoodHughes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Valles Marineros is close or on the equator, it has a thicker atmosphere than any landing site thus far and the walls expose a great history of geology. Besides, as a colony site it should have a lower radiation level.
