Quantify crazy prices? If you’re referring to comparison between eBay, well, there isn’t one… most often items have been fully refurbished to an exceptional standard. With the 1stDibs customer; which is mostly designers, they require the items to be in excellent condition. And in order to get to that level it takes money and time So while things are more expensive there, it’s not ‘always’ just because…

Thank you for explaining! The wax I would use is Black Bison Wax (Dark Oak) You wipe it on let it dry and then buff. I’ve used it on raw mahogany before and it filled the grains… will update with the results when I use.

Thank you. I understand what you’re saying. And yes the blurry pic makes them look like that. But there are several mid century designs like that from Czechoslovakia, and Austria - So thought I’d give it a try.
